Saints License Plates Proposed For Mississippi

The Mississippi House of Representatives passed a bill Thursday authorizing the sale of a new distinctive motor vehicle tag that would help fund the Infinity Science Center in Hancock County.
With every purchase of the $50 tag, $44 would go to the Infinity program. The tag is designed to commemorate the New Orleans Saints’ Super Bowl XLIV win in 2010.
The bill will now go before the state Senate for approval. If passed by the Senate and signed into law by Gov. Haley Barbour, sales of the tags could start in March.

Our awesomeness is taking over the nation (or at least the Gulf Coast)

Pretty cool that most of Mississippi considers the Saints their team. I was driving from Alabama back to Louisiana on I-20 and in either Jackson or Meridian I saw a Saints Bud Light billboard.

If you go north of hattisburg pretty much everyone loves the giants now since they drafted Eli. Pretty f'n dumb if you ask me. I have never been a fan of an entire team just because one guy from LSU was drafted there. I know several Ole Miss fans that bumped the Saints to second because of Eli being in NY.

That's bs sir. I live in the Jackson area (which is north of hattiesburg) and this is Saints country. The only Eli/Giants fans around here are the same ignorant fricktards that like Ole Miss.

And Im from Gulfport. The Mississippi Gulfcoast has always been Saints country.

i spent a few months in meridian...there is a restaurant called the crescent city cafe or crescent city grill where people would watch the Saints game...Mississippi is Saints Country. The difference is in the population percentage. You can find plenty of people who don't care about the saints, and find plenty that do care...you'd be hard pressed to find anyone in Louisiana that does not care about the Saints

I was indeed making a generalized statement. My apologies to my north MS fellow saints fans.

Wonder if Texas would consider it. Got LSU plates available here.

I think their license plates should say mississippi though, not louisiana.

Why not? I think Mississippi has LSU plates as well.

There are more Saints fans in Hancock, Harrison and Jackson Counties than there are in the Baton Rouge metro area.

From Hburg, dad lived in Gport for 5 years, and have lived in Oxford for 5 years now. Trust me, the Saints are Mississippi's team.
Now, do I pull for the Giants bc of Eli? Sure I do. But the Saints are and always will be #1 with me.

Meridian is NOT a Saints town, purely Falcons fans there. FACT.
