Here's a shocking thought: Maybe JJ just isn't as good as some people think he is.
Granted, it was Crowton's fault too. But maybe JJ just couldn't learn.
just my $0.02

JJ isn't the only QB at LSU.

QBs at LSU under Crowton (developed):
Jarrett Lee - 4*
Jordan Jefferson - 4*
Chris Garrett - 3*
Russell Shepard - 5*
We also had Hatch for a year.

5 QBs and Crowton couldn't find 1 that worked?

Why did Crowton run the read option with Lee? It certainly didn't fit to his strengths.
Why did LSU recruit QBs with different strengths? Drop back like Garrett, Zach Lee, Jarrett Lee; Mobile like Jefferson, Shepard. I don't believe for a second that Crowton wasn't involved in these decisions.

Let's look at the QBs under Jimbo Fisher (developed):
Matt Flynn - 4*
JaMarcus Russell - 4*
Ryan Perrilloux - 5*
Lester Ricard Jr. - 4*
Matt Mauck
Josh Booty
Rohan Davey

5 of out 7 were outstanding. See a difference?

Don't be scared to look past 2007. Crowton was awful with Dennis Dixon and John Beck playing QB (both are in the NFL).

He's just a garbage offensive coordinator.
