Had the OC job at LSU been open sooner, we would've had a good shot at landing Harsin from Boise State. Now, it's late in the post-season and it seems like LSU's only options are guys either in the NFL (Steve Logan, Todd Monken), without a job (Leach, Kragthorpe, Whipple), or in staff (Gonzoles, Wilson). While I support whoever the new OC will be, it seems like LSU might have to "settle" for someone not being actively pursued instead of going and getting the hottest name on the market. (Although hiring Leach or Logan wouldn't be "settling" for someone.)

I personally would like to see what BG can do with a good QB coach under him.

I disagree. We're fricking LSU. Let's throw some cash at some top notch OC's, and see what happens.

Agreed...throw the checkbook at Chryst and get him here for a couple of years. Let him groom BG...and when he leverages his success at an elite SEC program (not to mention Big 10 and PAC 10) into a good HC job, promote Billy.

So we go with BG for a trial year with a good QB coach under him, looking for a top notch OC for the following year if BG doesn't work out.

When did Harsin get hired, only 5-6 days ago? I realize he is gone but we can still get someone good.

You understand that LSU is the kind of program that can hire currently employed OC's away. . .right?

Think we need a proven OC for a run at MNC next year. Don't think it is a good year to take chances on someone who has not been an OC before.

If some high profile OC's are willing to come a couple of weeks before signing day, then so be it. I would hope they are attracted to the opening.

Les' new cred from the Michigan pursuit will give him the balls to give us Gonzo as Malleveto part 2. If he fails and we go win 8 games, what the frick does it matter to Les? He has 6 more years to fix it with no threat of being in job trouble.

A cursory glance at our roster would make most OC's come. . .

Quit fricking whining! It's been 4 fricking days since the season ended.

Oh and as far as coordinators go, we can only improve. So STFU and quit bitching.

I think LSU is in good shape. Remember Les has a 7 year contract. A good OC will look at this very hard. We pay better than most of the schools in the nation. In 2009, the LSU asst. total was around $900K more than UM.

Not slim pickings but Les once again dropped the ball with his decision to hold on to Crowton for so long
