Brady Hoke Press Conference

I know you guys are busy with figuring out if Gary Crowton is staying or going, but did any of you watch Hokes press conference on mgoblue.com?
I have to say, initially I was not sold on this hire, and the jury is still out as to whether or not he will win big here, but, there is no doubt this is where this guy wants to be. He said all the right things, kept referring to OSU as "That school in Ohio" and told off one of our local reporters who has a penchant for being a total douche. He definitely has a fiery personality and I hope that translates into his coaching abilities. Changing my initial reaction to this hire, I think we'll be okay.

I didn't see it, but I heard some of it. He sounds real fired up to be there.

You were won over with 1 interview? Guess you really weren't too against him to start with

I don't believe I said that I was completely won over. Still have to see what the results will be on the field/what he can do to save this recruiting class. Just stating after hearing him speak, not only about the University, but what his plans are, I don't think it will be DOOM as I initially thought. It's tough not to like the guy once you listen to him.
Rivals also quoting players as saying Denard will stay, which is good news.

I just saw a clip from it on ESPN. He definitely wants that job more than any other job out there. Congrats, Michigan. I think he'll do very well for you guys.
A lot has been made of Hoke's W/L record as a head coach. Miles record as a head coach before coming to LSU? 28-21 at Okie State, he wasn't exactly lighting up the Big12, and nobody in Baton Rouge knew who he was.

At one point, Hoke said his goal was to continually compete for the Big 10 title. Drew Sharp, writer for the Free Press up here asked him why the Big 10, shouldn't the goal be the NC? Hoke responded by saying No, if you win your conference, the rest should fall into place. Sharp kept pushing, insinuating that it was pretty much stupid to think that way and that Big 10 championships were consolation prizes, and Hoke finally said, I have 1 NC ring, and 5 conference championship rings, I'm proud of all of them and I don't consider any of them to be a consolation.
Typing it out doesn't sound as awesome as it was watching. Hoke doesn't exactly have an indoor voice, so. It was pretty funny.

Sounds like he stole that line from Mullen in how he refers to Ole Piss.

OSU generally refers to us as "That school up North" so I'm sure he was just returning the favor haha.

You guys needed a big name to get you in the right direction.... don't think you got it. Who knows though....

I think he said all the right things. He seems pumped about the challenge. And he showed emotion and I love that about a coach.

In appearance, mannerisms, speaking style--the guy reminds me a lot of Ed Orgeron. Just in mannerisms--I'm not making any other comparisons to Orgeron.
He may end up being a great hire.

I know he used to never refer to them by name. Not really sure specifically what he said. It seemed throughout the conference though, Hoke was channeling Bo. A few times when he was answering questions, if you were just listening and not paying attention to the screen, you kinda felt like you were listening to Bo.

Good luck. Would love to see LSU–UM play; imagine the home-and-aways with Miles as the Tiger HC.
