Chicken,

I spoke with Detroit Free-Press reporter, who told me Brandon delibertely low-balled the offer to Les because he really didn't want him. I find that hard to believe, but he stands by his sources.

"Stay Tuned" ! = "We don't know what he is going to do"

Which equals he was made an attrative offer..

1 + 1 = 2

So anonymous sources within LSU are saying things that make Miles look desirable, and we're supposed to believe that over what a publicly accountable official says publicly?

I hope we don't find out Les got more money out of LSU and that is why he stayed. The man doesn't deserve the money he is currently getting, heaven forbid he gets more.

Yeah, the man who wins 80% of his games isn't getting fairly compensated.

It was NOT "sources within LSU" that flew a jet several times to BR.

Just sayin'

ETA: Its semantics. "never offered" simply is a play on words and we ALL understand how the game is played.

we're not supposed to believe our people but believe this guy with public accountability, who just so happens to have egg on his face and a rabid fanbase breathing down his neck,See that works both ways.Brandon knows that Les and harbaugh aren't going to publicly tell the country that he's lying. It's win win for him. He's still blowing smoke out of his arse.

Go look at Michigan's boards. They are claiming neither Harbaugh or Miles were offered...their first choice was always Hoke.

Give me a break. That line of arguing is the ultimate in trying to save face.

I fully believe both Harbaugh and Miles had offers.

I believe anyone that's honest with themselves knows this is true. Only the hardcore UM fans and Les Miles haters believe otherwise.

Yesterday UM fan loved Miles. He was their savior and they couldn't wait for him to come home.

Today the guy is an adulterer and so-so coach. Really sad to see their 180 over being upset he didn't take the job.

I'm happy as a clam though.

I'm not going to say we didn't offer him, but only in the technical sense. If Miles really wanted to come to UM, we would have taken him. At least this is what I've been telling myself for the past three hours.

The job may not have been "formally" offered, but I can't imagine a meeting like the one that took place where parameters of a deal to get Miles back to UM weren't discussed at length.

I agree. For Brandon to claim that Hoke was Plan A all along tends to make me feel somewhat insulted as a fan.

I'm indifferent...

If he left, so what, Saban/Bertman built a solid foundation in this BCS era, but Miles staying is a good for LSU short term...

Les, as of now, has $15 Million guaranteed by LSU as long as he doesn't get us on probation. I am assuming he'll get at least a one year extension out of this, meaning he'll be up to $18.75 Million again.

Just because UM was rumored to have offered Harbaugh some ridiculous deal doesn't mean they did. I seriously doubt they offered Harbaugh the $5.2 Million people were claiming, but rumors and "sources" claim it was.

Michigan isn't Alabama. They aren't going to go into $5 Million territory for a coach out of desperation. Their AD did want to make an attempt to hire a top coach I am sure, but wasn't going to overspend.
