re: Miles Turned Down More Money to Stay at LSU

True, but that was what was publicized immediately after the ordeal with UM, so it feels like fresh information again. Positive, "fresh" information ---> positive PR move

Based on some of the uber-supportive comments about Miles in this thread, it becomes pretty clear as to why it's possible somebody would say he was offered a fat contract and turned it down.
I am in the camp that believes he was offered a decent contract, but to say it's not possible this information is fluff to build up the reputation of a coach who is relatively beleaguered despite his success makes total sense. Especially when they quickly sign him to a 7-year deal soon afterwards.

Michigan is in good position to scoop him up.

Definitely feel good about Coach Hoke after the press conference today. He's an easy guy to pull for and you can definitely sense that he's from the old guard pipeline.

Denard is staying. I promise.
You guys hit it big today

First you get to keep the Hat and now Crowton looks to be gone....you guys should give me some lottery numbers.

Please take that picture down. :banghead:

I'm almost certain that wasn't the case. They were coming off a 11-2 season the year before and he's already won a NC. He could have stayed as long as he liked.

I am not sure if you're being sarcastic, because he wasn't fired. He retired after they beat Florida in the Capital One Bowl. Or some would say he conveniently retired after Chad Henne, Mike Hart, Jake Long, Mario Manningham and Adrian Arrington were gone.

I don't think Denard will leave. Those rumors were greatly exaggerated. His teammates love him and he loves his teammates....I'd be real surprised if he left.
Borges will go with Hoke to UM

Per Adam Rittenberg (ESPN)

Is this like when Robin Williams told Jack that he needed to come home and Jack said "I am home" and then Captain Hook started laughing at him?

Just watched the Bret Hart documentary. Highly recommended.

I agree. For Brandon to claim that Hoke was Plan A all along tends to make me feel somewhat insulted as a fan.

I'm not going to say we didn't offer him, but only in the technical sense. If Miles really wanted to come to UM, we would have taken him. At least this is what I've been telling myself for the past three hours.

Rumors were always that Hoke was Brandon's first choice and that the national coaching search was to quell the fan base.
re: The whole "Michigan Man" BS is absurd.

I do think the program has at least suffered due to its own arrogance. That's not a knock on Brady Hoke at all, but this coaching search was a complete joke.

Yup, it's official.
re: So what will that UM players meeting be about now?

Detroit News is about to report that all indications are Hoke. This is probably for sure.
