He has the size to be a outside linebacker and he is a somewhat good tackler.

Anyone else agree?

He's never seemed to be all that quick. Prob why he was at SS in the first place. Dude hasn't had a bad couple years, but Saturday was his worst game fo sho.

Yea but he can not stick wide recievers and tight ends, let him play a run stopper linebacker or maybe take Clay Matthews role at Green Bay and just let him constantly rush the quarterback

I was actually thinking of this as well. But as a LB he'd still have to cover RB's and TE's and doesn't seem to have the speed to do this. Just ask Sam Bradford.

Well no one can be perfect but I think his disadvantages will better suit him as a LineBacker because he will not have as many one on one defending oppurtunties

I've actually wondered if they might experiment with that some time. With a new contract due it isn't right and some doghouse will certainly pay him decent money for SS if the team decides it isn't prudent.

Worst part of him leaving is there's no legitimate replacement on the roster. Even if PT & Reggie go there's still Ivory and others to build on. Our WR depth wouldn't make Lance Moore leaving a disaster. Strief and Tennant could start for a lot of teams. Casillas will be back at LB. Etc, etc

Dude has played VERY VERY well this year.

It was simply a case of having two slow safeties in a game with MH being ON. If Jenkins had played I don't think RH would have been nearly as vulnerable. He's a smart player and has been very good for us.

It's much harder to change positions in the NFL than college. If he were still in college maybe but I don't see it working especially this late in his career

Don't agree with the move to LB, but I do know that his greatest weaknesses have been exposed toward the end of the season. We needed to get younger and more athletic at multiple positions.

Not sure if I completely agree, but something needs to be done. Not saying he is terrible, but a backup plan needs to be in place in case his last games performance keeps happening.
