Lots of people have purchased Tim Tebow jerseys lately. John Elway isn’t one of them.

The new executive V.P. of football operations in Denver needs to hire a head coach and, ultimately, the team needs to decide on a strategy for dealing with the franchise’s second first-round pick in 2010. For now, the news for Tebow isn’t good.

“I don’t think Tim Tebow is a good NFL quarterback at this time,” Elway told Peter King of NBC and Sports Illustrated.

He is just worried Tebow might unseat him as the beloved Bronco. Elway

I hope Elway isn't like Jordan when it comes to his job. Now I agree Tebow isn't now, but competition is what the NFL is all about.

Great way for Elway to build the kids confidence. He pretty much just torpedoed the kid.

Looks like Timmy T will be put on the trading block.

This situation could go nowhere but down from here.

Elway would have been better off saying that there are a lot of areas that he needs to see improvement in Tim Tebow and left it at that.

Elway wants a prototypical Andrew Luck type QB, who throws and runs like Andrew Luck and whose name is Andrew Luck.

It makes sense, everyone wants Luck on their side.

Peter king said yesterday that McDaniels may get the OC job with Minnesota and try and trade for Tebow. Sounds like Elway would be open to listen. Dont be surprised to see Tebow wearing a different uni next year

He's shopping Tebow now to get Luck after next season. If he can't get Luck he wants another "franchise QB" type.

Tebow is not "the guy" at Denver. If I were Timmy T I would ask Elway to give me a fair shot at the job or trade me ASAP.

I think Elway definitely wants to do the latter.

Not a smart strategy then.

"yeah we got this guy whom we pay more than he Is worth. He is a first rounder, but honestly isn't very good. Who wants to make a trade!?"

Time will tell. It is obvious Elway doesn't buy into the Legend of Timmy T, but some GM out there is going to.
