Curious, it's obvious there is an element of hate towards crowton

How many of you were wanting jimbo gone? i remember a lot of posters on the rant griping about jimbo and was excited to see him gone. Then a lot of cheering for crowton and the offense in 2007. Now, it's back to wanting crowton gone.

i'm not saying i think he should stay. i'm just curious as to who it is that wanted jimbo gone and if you want crowton gone. is it the same people?

I don't think it's healthy for a program to have a coach for too long. I liked Jimbo, but it was time for him to go. Hell, I liked John Brady but it was time for him to go as well.

Every coach wears out their welcome, especially if they are underachiving. Look at Greg Schiano. Once a savior, now people are looking to run him out of town.

you're right

there was GRIPING about fisher

people didnt think he was using all of our talent to the best of their abilities, but the offense still moved the ball 1000 times better than this offense

with crowton we're not griping, with crowton we're screaming from a rooftop that the guy cant develop QBs

A lot of people lost faith in Jimbo after the 2006 Auburn game. I really didn't mind Jimbo, but I was annoyed at his tendencies to get ultra conservative against good defenses.

And there is a legit reason to wanting Crowton gone. This offense has been just downright pathetic for 2 years in a row now. It was never this bad under Fisher, hell even under fricking McConnell in 1999, the offense wasn't this bad.

lmost as common as the gripes about Jimbo was the complaint that Saban was holding Jimbo back.

everybody i can remember.

i remember when gary was beloved in 07, when the offense was breakin school records.

now we're running the same plays, same schemes, with actually pretty good adjustments but we're not successful. because the qb cant hit the open guy.

Good god, man.

Consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds!

is not curious.

Yes, I thought Jimbo was an underachiever.

But Crowton is a colossal failure.

There's nothing inconsistent about that.

They are a pretty vocal bunch of people but yes, they are pretty much the same people. If our offense isn't shredding defenses, they want somebody to pay.

Both sucked. I'd take Rich Rod or Gus Malzahn or Chip Kelly or Dana Holgerson or Mike Leach or Dan Mullins. It was time for Jimbo to go, that doesn't mean it was time for Crowton. Choose wisely, my friend.

I wanted Jimbo gone, but that was for just following the crowd. I guess I never really had a reason other than just being a lemming. Now, I am older and wiser (I assume) and can see the writing on the wall with crowton.

Jimbo's schtick had gotten stagnant on offense, and our playcalling was extremely conventional and non creative. Bubble screen left, dive up the middle, and punt. That said, I would prefer to have him back now over Crowton simply due to QB development.
