He is already preparing a list with contacts on speed dial, if not already making some contacts in case Miles to Michigan materializes this time. I doubt it will happen, but for the sake of recruiting I think it is imperative that LSU hire a new coach within a week of Miles leaving, if he choose to do so.

I'm sure Skip already called Alleva and told him to rip up Miles' old contract and give him a new 5 year, $10 million/year contract.

I thought Memphis said yesterday that Miles already told Michigan that he was not interested if his name was on the list?

Alleva hired Ted Roof at Duke who compiled a 6-45 record.

What's more amazing? That he went 6-45, or that the Duke administration allowed him to go 6-45?

Close race of futility. Duke is of course accustomed to losing in football. Still, being the worst coach in the history of Duke football is a truly craptastic accomplishment....four straight years of 1-11 records.

Harkens to parallels of Rick Venturi's record:

1-31 at Northwestern

2-17 at Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints

3-48 overall record.

He attended every basketball game the last 3 seasons until this football season ended. He's busy doing something and doesn't want to be in public.

I think he's preparing as you suggest because it's a real possibility Miles will leave if Michigan wants him after Harbaugh declines.

Miles is with his team in Texas and is completely focused on the upcoming bowl game despite all the rumors.

Here is EXACTLY what Les said about the rumored new job:
quote:

"I am preparing to play in a bowl game. I want no distractions for my football team. I'm not looking around."

Miles on Rumors

Then he accepted the LSU job.

He said the exact same thing at Okie State before leaving for LSU. I would put very little stock into that statement.

Until Michigan has satisfied themselves officially with their coaching situation and it has nothing to do with Miles, there is always a chance.

People need to realize (and this is not intended to be a slap at Memphis, Belowpar, etc.) that the message board prophets are not telling gospel truth. I am sure they have sources that lead them to believe certain things at certain times, which in turn lead to message board posts at a given time. Things change. Business is fluid, especially when millions of dollars are on the line.

With that being said and getting back on topic, I hope that Miles stays, no good outcome comes from him leaving this late in the recruiting season. However, this will be a true litmus test for our AD if he does leave. We will find out what he is made of and likely also find out what type of power and money TAF possesses at the moment.
