whatever happened to those big old overalls that used to hang from the porch on that St.Fran. store? They would've fit me...

Houma
.270
59 deg
Monsoon then eased at 6:00am

Saw 3 does and two yearlings 4:40 am till 5 am

Doe and a yearling 5:20 am till 5:45am

Doe and a yearling 6:10am till 6:20am

two disgruntled coons (growled at the deer)

The yearlings were running like puppies and slipping and falling. Quite hilarious. The deer definitely move in the rain.

You guys piss me off...
I am stuck at work!

I prefer to hunt in the rain. I have killed my biggest buck, and seen most of my big bucks in the rain.

Where my stand is the feeder is maybe 30 feet away and with the contrast of the rye grass you can see silhouettes pretty much around the clock. I also get a glow at night from city lights in the distance. I don't need a flashlight to walk to the stand. When a deer is in a green field 10 feet away from you and you are only 5 feet off the ground you can see them pretty well

Didn't make it out today I've been sick and decided to sleep in. May catch up with the dog runners and listen to a race.

6:45am on work days. Gotta be at the office for 7:30am. If i am there on the weekend then about 8ish. We have allot of activity at the feeder in that hour or two before daylight. Even though I can't shoot yet they are still fun to watch.

Epitome of a sportsman and conservationist.
We just enjoy being out there!

Back in stand til dark.
Junction tx last day this year.
We saw some good bucks here earlier in week we didn't take.

60+ degrees here. We saw 2-4s n a3 yesterday afternoon but with 10+ wt does and 5 or so axis around son couldn't get clear shot.

Saw 3 does n an 8 this morning but we didn't want to take a 2-1/2 yo 8.

We'll prolly take an axis doe this afternoon if nothing else.

This is my sons hunt. He killed a doe Monday where we are now. If I don't shoot another deer til he turn 16 or so I'm a happy man. These next 10 years or so are all about him.
