The Cotton bowl site says that there will be no standing room tickets issued. The 80K including 12.5K for each team.
The Battalion says they will give an additional 2000 standing room to A&M students.

Some isn't telling the truth.
Will they change their mind and issue more? I hope so. It will also put a damper on the scalped tickets.
Since A&M knew they were playing earlier, they will probably have a big advantage in attendance.

CB Chairman(?) said on 104.5 yesterday, a little over 80K will be total admitted. With each side getting a number (no definite number) of SRO tickets to get to the 80K+ attendance. He made it sound as if LSU/TAMU were negotiating the splitting of those SRO tickets. None will be offered through the CB itself.

The biggest advantage TAMU fans have had in getting tickets was in the few days they knew that they were going and LSU did not, they were able to try to start finding some of those 50K tickets that were already sold by the CB before either team was announced. It is only natural that a large number of those CB direct tickets are TAMU/TU fans in TX that buy them every year just in case.

Its a shame the Cotton Bowl is no longer played.. in the Cotton Bowl.
After freezing my a** off at the '03 game, except for the tradition, JerryWorld is by far the better venue for the game.

It seats 75,000. They're selling about 5,000 standing room tickets. According to the Cotton Bowl chairman on Atfer Further Review yesterday. He also said they won't be opening up the standing room area in the endzones that allows the capacity to exceed 100,000.

i think the only people being sold SRO tickets are students. I know several people who bought them. Doesn't make sense to me why they dont just open it up. The games already sold out, might as well try and get as many people in as possible.

Yes indeed - why would they limit SRO, is there not debt to be serviced on that building?

Not really. That stadium is a slightly renovated dump.

Oh so am I, when things need to change they need to change. But when it is called the Cotton Bowl and there is a stadium called the Cotton Bowl played in the actual city it is promoted to be played in. Im all for. Especially when the stadium it is replaced for is too large for most events.
So I assume you don't like the Sugar Bowl being the Dome...
