Got to try a few more poboy places in the last few months. Included my old reviews also. Recently went out to eat with some guys from out of town who were in from work. They tried my places and one on their own. They preferred their choice actually at Crabby Jack's on Jefferson by Louisiana Seafood Exchange. Never eaten there. Will have to give it a try for sure.

Baton Rouge
Sherwood Poboy- 7.3 out of 10
Bread- Soft Wayne's Bakery. Find it is good but prefer New Orleans style bread. 6 out of 10.
Shrimp- Medium sized and descently stuffed. Counted about 10-12 medium sized shrimp on a 7 inch. 7 out of 10
Breading- Found the flavor to be very good. Nice amount of seasoning. 9 out of 10

Lafayette
Old Tyme Grocery- 6 out of 10
Bread- Soft Langlinais bread. Same thoughts as above. Maybe a little better than waynes. 7 out of 10.
Shrimp- Medium/large sized and descently stuffed. Counted about 16 shrimp on a 10 inch. 7 out of 10.
Breading- Very bland tasting and tasted like straight corn flour with no seasoning. 4 out of 10.

Julien's Poboys- 6.7 out of 10
Bread- Similar to Old tyme. 6 out of 10.
Shirmp- Large butterflied shrimp but only 4 shrimp on my 5in poboy and my dad had 5 on his 5 inch. 5 out of 10. If they would have doubled the shrimp on the poboy, the score would have been way higher.
Breading- Breading was good and flavor was good just not enough shrimp. 8 out of 10

New Orleans
Short Stop Poboy- 7 out of 10
Bread- Leidenheimer bread which I love. 8 out of 10.
Shrimp- Smallish shrimp and was descently stuffed but definitel not overstuffed. 6 out of 10.
Breading- Didn't notice anything special. Was ok but didn't stand out. 7 out of 10.

Cast Net Seafood- 8.7 out of 10
Bread- Leidenheimer bread which I love. 8 out of 10.
Shrimp- Medium sized shrimp and overstuffed. Counted about 35 shrimp on my 10inch. 9 out of 10
Breading- Nice flavor but could have used a little more seasoning in my opinion. 9 out of 10.

R&O's Bucktown- 8.7 out of 10
Bread- Not sure what kind of bread but I liked it. It was toasted french bread with a hard crust and seeds on it. 9 out of 10
Shrimp- Nice medium/large butterflied shrimp. Only complaint was I would have preferred more. Probably had about 8-10 shrimp on the 5 inch. Would have given it about a 6-7 if it wasn't butterflied. 8 out of 10.
Breading- Nice flavor but could have used a little more seasoning in my opinion. 9 out of 10.
Side Note: Had their gumbo and onion rings and both were really good.

Parkway Deli- 9 out of 10
Bread- Leidenheimer bread which I love and toasted. 9 out of 10.
Shrimp- Medium/large sized shrimp and overstuffed. 9 out of 10
Breading- Nice flavor but could have used a little more seasoning in my opinion. 9 out of 10.
Side Note: Had their roast beef also and I liked it a lot.

Lady Grace Seafood- 6.7 out of 10
Bread- Leidenheimer bread which I love. 8 out of 10.
Shrimp- Small/Medium sized shrimp. Not a ton of shrimp on it. 6 out of 10.
Breading- Didn't notice anything special. Was ok but didn't stand out. 6 out of 10.
Side Note: Only picked this place because I live in the area.

Never been to Parkway and am considering going there today.

I want to try the roast beef and fried shrimp combo.

Is it worth the drive?

I may get flamed for this, but...In Baton Rouge, there is a stop and rob gas station on Perkins rd south of Bluebonnet near Oak Hills that has some pretty good poboys.

Great list. Definitley try Johnny's Poboys next time you're in New Orleans. Be prepared to wait. Ridiculously long lines and tables are limited. (There is a section in the back though.). Well worth the wait IMO.
