This is just random thought on my part and I dont believe this would ever happen, but a lot have speculated that little nicky would like to win three titles at three different teams. To me he could accomplish this at the U. However they I dont think could afford him. Just a random thought. and no i will not GTFO.

He didn't do so well in one Miami. I think he likes his position at Alabama..

You should strongly reconsider.

This. Plus, he's going to Dallas, who can afford him and will reluctantly pay him. The great luxury both Jerry and Nicky have now is time. Saban will not be able to say no to a $ figure approaching $100 million for a total contract value.

Not a chance. 2-1 with a tough loss to the defending super bowl champs. Garrett will be hired.

Owners are not going to spends excess money this offseason.

You sure about that? Jerry's not getting any younger. I'll admit that Garrett is a hot prospect. However, what if he drops 4 or 5 more?

Oh well that certainly changes everything then. But if he goes .500 or better, from what everyone has been saying about how impressive he is as a leader, I'd suspect he gets that job.

He took over with 8 games left. I think he has to win 4 or 5 to have the gig next year. When he was not named "iterim", I think everybody interpreted that as an 8-game tryout. I don't think we fundamentally disagree on Garrett's status. I'm going to keep saying Saban's the next coach at Dallas until Jerry hires somebody else or gives Garrett the gig for 2011.

Even if you keep saying it, it still won't come true. Sorry. Saban will be at Bama for a while. Get over it.

Politiceaux - hey, man, I didn't leak that number to the press, Sexton did. Will Jerry get to that number? I don't know. However, if they put the number out there, and there are only a handful of teams that can afford that, and they are ALL in the NFL. Whether or not the confirmed meeting between Jones and Saban was simply for Sexton to go to Bama for a raise/extension remains to be seen.

If you really believe that Saban isn't for sale at any price, you can't be helped.

The U does not have the moola like it did 10 years ago. You can't win with out monetary support and they don't have it.

nah. doubt that 3 nc's at 3 schools is his goal and you are correct, miami can't afford him. the only way miami is going to make a comeback is if the alumni with coins start ponying up big time.

The only college job Saban would leave Alabama for is Penn State. If he doesn't go to Dallas, Penn State will make a serious run at him when Paterno finally retires. Penn State has the money that Saban would require, and is the type of program that Saban has always wanted to run.
