Wow, it's like all of LSU's offensive players are completely off the hook now! Ya'll make it sound like it's 100 percent Crowton's fault. Granted, he is in charge of the offense and deserves most of the blame. But can you really blame all of the lack of production and execution from the players solely on the OC? And must I remind ya'll that LSU's offense showed decent improvement towards the end of the season? Partly because Crowton finally started to have some confidence in JJ by opening up the playbook some and letting him throw it more.

Yeah, we definitely have room for improvement....but we finished the season ranked in the top 10 with a respectable 10-2 record in the SEC (including a win over Bama)....and now a bunch of ya'll are dreading another season with him? If JJ continues his improvement and leadership into next season, then all of the sudden Gary doesn't look that bad. That's what we were lacking.....good consistent QB play from a QB who is capable of playing in this leauge. Our running game was solid this season. I have a little more confidence in JJ now for next year.

I do realize that we have a lot of talent on offense and they probably haven't reached their full potential yet. Could we have a new OC fix that? Yeah. But I'm not the one who demands perfection, so I'll be happy if he can continue to bring us 10+ win seasons.

Now that is the way to support the players. You are so childish. Seems like you would care more for the players that chose to come to LSU and not pout because you don't like the coordinator

"Does this mean Belowpar is wrong AGAIN?"

Belowpar's OP was that Miles would only get rid of GC if he could get an OC he really wanted. How would this mean he was wrong?

what do you idiots expect Crowton to say? "No I do not expect to have my job back next season which I have a contract for." It doesn't mean shite that he said he expects to be back he has to say that.

Did you actually watch the football games? Have you seen the offense's numbers for the past 3 seasons? Do you honestly think we are maximizing the talent we have? Yes, a 9 or 10 win season is a nice foundation, but as Alleva reminded us last year, the purpose of the program is to compete at the highest level and win championships. What this season showed me is that without a consistently good offense, from individual players, to scheme, to play calling, we will not achieve that next level. Its nice to beat Bama and Florida when they're down. What about when they're running on all cylinders? Yes, players need to play better, but when they consistently underperform, don't you think that's a coaching issue? When they actually regress, don't you think that's a coaching issue? When they try to susbstitute 4 freakin' wide receivers with seconds clicking off the clock on the last play of the game against a middling SEC opponent, don't you think that's a coaching issue? Look at our defense and tell me with a MODEST improvement in offense, we shouldn't be playing in a BCS bowl.

Come on, man. STFU with this sunshine BS. I know the man is a family man with a family, yadda, yadda, but he has mismanaged talent and cost this program a lot this year. He should lose his job for that.

From my observations, it seems like in order for LSU to be defeated, BOTH the offense and defense must play poorly.

This was obviously the case in the AU and ARK game.

In LSU's 10 wins, 9x's the defense played stellar while the offense played well in 1.5 games. The one time the defense played poorly in those 10 wins (Ole Miss), the offense played extremely well.

Image if LSU had just a top 50 offense that showed up every week. We need a real OC!

i'm not reading through this whole thread because i'll only get fricking pissed...so i'm sure this has been said...

if Gary Crowton returns in 2011, he will officially become Les Miles' Lou Tepper. He will more than likely cost him his job and it will be 100%, absolutely warranted.

You had the chance to fix it Les, you had 2 chances to fix it without it completely exploding in your face. Will it take a sub .500 record for you to finally make the move? Cause with Crowton, it's possible next year.

Les will completely lose the faith of the fans if Crowton is returned, FACT.

If Crowton is retained, this just further proves that Miles has his nose in the gameplan and playcalling.

I don't think Miles is going to fire Crowton because he knows he (Miles) is too involved and should take a brunt of the blame. Loyalty to Crowton isn't the issue. It's firing someone that isn't the total blame for the issue. IMO, Les feels he cannot fire Crowton because of this because by this logic, Les should fire himself.

Yeah. I'm content with 10-2 this season just because I didn't think the offense would get much better. But looking back now...geez. If LSU would have had merely the 50th ranked offense in college football, they probably would have beaten both Auburn and Arkansas. Yeah, I know "if and buts..."

I wonder if Crowton has ever realized that we want him to get the frick out and stop ruining our football team.
