7-2
All you Boise haters are right. Boise doesn't belong in the conversation with the big boys.
Boise is also still 7-1 vs. BCS teams and in BCS games in that period.
I've copied and pasted the following from a previous post of mine, which is infallible. You Boise haters probably are incapable of reading it, but here it is anyway:

quote:
2006: BSU beats Oregon State in the Beavers' 2nd game. The week before, OSU played Eastern Washington. The week after, open date. And then Idaho. Yeah, HUGE trap game for the Beevs.
2007 Fiesta Bowl: BSU beats Big 12 champ Oklahoma. Each team had a month to prepare. I'm sure OU completely overlooked the Broncos on the schedule.
2007: BSU shits the bed, loses to eventual 4-9 dud Washington. It happens.
2008: BSU beats Oregon. The Ducks opened with 0-12 Washington, 3-9 Utah State, and 4-8 Purdue before playing the Broncos. The next week, Oregon played 1-12 Wazzu. It's amazing that Oregon lost by only five--they simply had no time to prepare!
2009: BSU beats Oregon again. Season opener for both teams. THE DUCKS SIMPLY DID NOT HAVE TIME TO PREPARE OR GET UP FOR THIS GAME!!!
2010 Fiesta Bowl: BSU beats undefeated TCU.
2010: BSU beats Virginia Tech, but there should be an asterisk by this game. Virginia Tech didn't play this game at home. They had to travel 282 miles on only 249 days' rest. The Hokies were effed in the A by their tough schedule!
2010: BSU beats Oregon State. The Beavers played Louisville (currently 5-4) the week before and Arizona State (currently 4-5) after.

Are these based on rankings at the time or at the end of the season?

so this is the first year they've played 2 whole BCS teams in the same regular season?
Point made i guess.

Boise State is a very good football team, but 9 games against ranked teams over 5 years, INCLUDING bowl games? Also only 8 games vs BCS opponents or in BCS games over a 5 year period? LSU played 10 BCS opponents THIS SEASON.
And there is no longer a question that Boise would wear down playing in a "real" conference after seeing their D completely sucking wind the entire 2nd half yesterday.

Moot point now. They're at the bottom of the barrel of 1 loss teams.

I think Boise St is legitimately a very good team. However, I still think there's a better than 50/50 chance that every top 10-15 every year could go through schedule undefeated.
Your post emphasizes this insofar as it took them 5 seasons to face around the quality that an Alabama team faced just last season to go undefeated.

xiv I don't mind the analysis and appreciate it, but this kind of backs up the haters in a way.
When Boise has time to prepare they can play with anyone, I don't think people are really denying that too much. But when you have to play teams like Arky at home, then play at Miss. ST then play at home against Bama you don't go 3-0 if you're a team like Boise. Same can be said for going to OSU, then home against Iowa, then at Mich and stuff like that

quote:Yes, and they've won almost all of them. Do you think that's more because they're lucky or good?

Playing so few decent teams in that time span is the joke.

dude those teams are bad.
boise's claim to fame was the statue of liberty to beat an OU team that notoriously chokes away the big game..
then they beat Oregon twice.. wow..
oregon state is a big dog?
i still don't see any convincing wins worth any worthy opponents.. u bring up TCU? really? and they barely beat TCU.. who also beat them the year prior..
it's still much easier when you only have to get up for 1 game a season.
again it's not so much about hating boise.. it's about hating the conference they play in. they can go earn some respect next season opening with UGA and having to play TCU in conference.

so basically beating a few decent teams from the NW

from your quote i count 1 in 06-09 and then two this year.
Bowls games aren't regular season games.
The Boise Haters can't be proven wrong because the sample size is so ridiculously small per year. Maybe 1-2 of those Boise teams was actually legit, but the odds are that more often than not they couldn't hold up to a full schedule. Until they play a real schedule you can't really say otherwise.
