It's a dream to be like Ole Miss and celebrate co-champs....just kidding Ole Miss. At LSU we celebrate SEC and National Championships.

At one time we had banners in the indoor practice facilty.....haven't been in there in a long time so I'm not sure they are still there....its really no big deal to me that Ole Miss does that.....they haven't won much in 40 years...I don't blame them for celebrating it.....they haven't had many good years.....

There is no such thing as "co-champions"
Division standings are based on each team's overall conference record. Often, two or more teams tie for the best record in their division and each team is recognized as a divisional co-champion. However, tiebreakers are used to determine who will represent the division in the championship game.

Like I said i don't want a "co-champion" banner but the players deserve recognition for being divisional co-champ.

I guess your kids will play in leagues that don't keep score

Jk. On a serious note, honor them with something but they did not win the west. They should have beaten Auburn outright if they want to make that claim. Good year, you get a pat on the arse, but you gotta win the ones that count the most and we didn't.

I don't care about what WE get, but would be happy to see Auburn fans have to change their signs about being SEC champions.....to co-champions!

do we even have flags for the SEC West title in 2005 in the stadium? That was this administration.

Oh really? I thought Alleva came to LSU in 2008. Last time I heard, he called the shots in the athletic department. Trust me, if he wanted to hang a banner in TS recognizing this accomplishment it would happen. Again, I'm just stating my opinion that it's not a trend I would want to see started. Do I think it will happen? No. But it has taken place at other SEC schools so that makes it worthy of discussion IMHO.

Co -champs sounds silly since the team you are tied with BEAT YOU.

Yes, you are right, I forgot he was an absolute dictator with no regard for what anyone else thinks or what has happened before.

We do not have banners recogonzing SEC West championships for years we did go to the SEC CG, why on earth would Alleva even consider it? If nothing else it would fricking stupid without putting one up for every other year we won the West. I'm going to go ahead and guess he has better things to think about.

as far as I know it has happened at 1 SEC school, which happens to be the only 1 in the SEC west to never make it to Atlanta.

FWIW, it has been a while since I've been in the PMAC. but we at least used to have a banner for 1991 as SEC Champs. UK had the best SEC record that year but were no probation. We tied with MSU, but they beat us twice. Drove me and a friend nuts. But with 3 NC and what 10? SEC titles, I really don't think they will run up a banner for 1 west co title.

according to the SEC we will have; if that holds no water with you then that's a different conversation all together. we will be co-division champs though if we beat R kansas and auburn loses to bama.

The Co-Champs banners are still hanging in the indoor practice facility. In years that we tied but did not go to the SEC CG there is a co-champs banner. In years that we tied and went to the CG it just says champs. for 2003 and 2007 there are 3 banners for each year - SEC West Champs, SEC Champs, and National Champs.

Agreed, again, all I said is that it's fine for media guides, record books, etc. I wouldn't want to see it recongized in TS and I don't think we have to worry about it.
