Boise has played 4 ranked teams in the regular season in the last 8 years.

When the analyst are talking about tough games, and they say, "Auburn travels to Alabama, and Boise travels to Nevada" in the same breath, that is very laughable.

A Nevada team that is top 25 and a rivalry game. I say that will be a big game for both, since it also is for a possible BCS game and Conference Championship.

Auburn could lose the game and still go to a BCS game, so Nevada-Boise is a bigger tougher game IMO.

Not to people who have seen them all play or the computers.

they deserve the attention they are getting

No they don't deserve to be in the National Title talk.

quote:

Nobody on this site has railed on Pitt, USF, Va Tech, etc for getting auto bid like they do for Boise or TCU for maybe getting a bid.

Nobody is talking up Pitt, USF, Va Tech, etc for the National Title game.

Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, etc. play 2 or 3 games of cupcakes per year. Boise plays an entire conference schedule of cupcakes. Anybody can play great for 1 week. But it is extremely hard to be sharp for 8/9 out of 12 weeks and that's what the teams in real conferences have to do.

Alabama, LSU, Arkansas, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and many others do not have a chance at the national title, but if you gave them all Boise's schedule, they would all be undefeated.

Nevada is a top 25 team because they play the same chumps that Boise plays. Two weeks ago Utah was a top 5 team because they were undefeated. They lost to a good TCU team, and then got beat soundly by an average/below average Notre Dame team.

Face it guys, Boise and TCU don't face anywhere close to the same challenge that Big 10, Big 12, SEC, or Pac 10 teams face. By your arguments we should put Jacksonville State (the #1 FCS team) in the BCS title game because they beat everyone on their schedule.

Why do you say Boise plays cupcakes? Because you do not respect their Conference?

Fresno (pretty good)
Hawai'i (pretty good)
Nevada (very good)
Oregon St (decent but Rogers got hurt)
Idaho (bowl team last year and wheels fell off late)
San Jose (bowl team last couple years rebuilding)

La Tech, NMSU, and USU I will put in patsy category

I know it sucks that Boise doesn't play anybody, but they are far from garbage. This is not the same Boise from 2005 that go stomped by UGA.

They have some NFL talent, and I would venture to say they would easily beat the bottom 6 SEC teams.

Their line is questionable at best b/c they sacrifice so much size for speed, but they're impressive any way you slice it.

Beating Fresno 51-0 is damn impressive no matter how you look at it. By the way, Fresno>ULM.

Kellen Moore is a great QB and has great touch on his passes. He has shown he can put zip when needed, but the fact remains that he throws a very catchable ball. Even against the tougher opponents like Va Tech or TCU or Oregon, he looked pretty good.

They should schedule all 4 BCS teams for their OOC games if they want serious consideration.

Oh they're good, but who wouldn't be with that schedule?

There are probably 10 teams that would be undefeated with Boise's schedule. No more. There is something to be said for coming to play every single week, regardless of who you're playing. And they don't just come to play, they dominate.

Could you imagine LSU playing that schedule this year? We'd be #1 and deemed the best team in the history of NCAA.

Are you retarded? Have you seen LSU play at all this season? I think we'd beat Boise and hope we play them so we can prove it, but we are not capable of being the offensive juggernaut that they have been this year.

And their schedule is horrible no doubt, and probably precludes them from being "deserving" of a national title shot. But they are fricking good, and I'm not sure that they aren't one of the 4 best teams in the country. I'd like to see them in an 8-team playoff and see if they could win big games in consecutive weeks. Would be interesting.

That's just speculation. Boise is as good as all of those teams. Oklahoma struggled with Utah State in Norman this year (31-24).

That Va Tech game was probably the biggest home game Va Tech has ever had, and they still lost. Anyway, credit to Boise for going in there and winning, but damn they really don't deserve a shot at the national title. I've changed my tune since August. This team would get their asses kicked by many ranked teams. Oh well, they'll still be left out of the national champ game.

I would venture to say we would not come close to beating Boise's opponents as impressively as Boise has.

I also think Boise would beat us, just b/c our offense is so damn pitiful. But it'd be a close game eitehr way. Something like 21-17.

I agree with this. Boise does show up to play EVERY week and rarely has an off-week.

Also, why does Kellen Moore get so much hate? Is it because he doesn't run. His movement in the pocket is fantastic and reminds me of Brees' movement in teh pocket. I'm not saying he will ever be anywhere near Brees, but his footwork is damn impressive for a collegiate QB in the age of Spread offenses and easy simplified reads.

how in the living hell can you say that this team would "get their asses kicked by MANY ranked teams?"

oregon? who boise beat last year?

Auburn? who has a one man defense? (remember boise actually has a pretty big Oline)

who are these "many" ranked teams that would kick boise's arse?

again I'm not saying the best team in the country but to think that they are some huge imposter is just foolish.

Gee thanks! We actually played Boise a better game than all of those teams for the past couple of years. (45-35 in Ruston and 49-20 in Boise). And we led LSU at halftime last year and were onside kicking at the end for a chance to tie. Plus, Tech destroyed Hawaii last year and Idaho this year. The WAC does play some good football. Just not at Boise's level.

Kellen Moore reminds me of Casey Weldon. He has the great feet and decent arm, not a rocket arm. He gets the most out of every play and reads progressions well. He will have an advantage over Wledon, playing in colder climate and having shown he can throw the comeback well. The throw he made to Pettis for his last TD was big time.

Robert Lester would have at least 3 picks against Boise.

Let's just look at Alabama's schedule, who by the way, is out of the national title talk, unlike Boise.

Fresno < Penn State
Hawai'i < Arkansas
Nevada < Auburn
Oregon St < LSU
Idaho < South Carolina
San Jose < Florida

Yeah, Boise is playing a brutal schedule.

So much fail. Let's start with this...

Boise State begins its quest for a national championship as it faces No. 10 Virginia Tech for the first time at FedEx Field in Landover, Md., on Monday night.
