Well dirtiness aside, which would put Cal (two programs on probation after leaving and likely going to put UK there one day) and Pearl (yeah he's basically admitted to cheating), there is certainly a case for him to be right there with Pearl. I give Pearl the nod, but TJ has gone to the sweet sixteen at three schools, was coach of the year in three conferences, and won in the Pac 10, which is much more impressive as a basketball conference than the SEC.
Like I said, Pearl would get the nod over him, despite the fact that he seems to be a cheater, but TJ is right there.

Would definitely rather have Trent over Calipari and Pearl.
Trent Johnson is a good coach, we're lucky to have him. He's got a lot of work to do to mold this group into a team though.

Pretty simple answer to how we can lose against Nicholls:
We fired Brady--probably best coach in LSU history. One of the most stupid actions ever by athletic dept. Now we are reaping what we sowed.

Brady's record better. One of Brady's final four's with 5 (or 6?) scholarship players because Dale leaves LSU with one of biggest NCAA penalties ever imposed. Brady coached 5 years under harsh sanctions left by Dale.

Man he was GREAT. That is why he was such a hot coach when he got canned. Arkansas St. has really been dominate under him. I think they are now 0-3 got beat by 40 last night.

Way to go out on a limb there. With the exception of Trent Johnson's short tenure, Brady and Dale combined to coach LSU for almost the previous 40 years.

Who couldn't have recruited that Final Four team? Three of the starters basically went to high school on LSU's campus. Taz went to Denham Springs. The farthest we had to go as a team to get our fifth starter was forty-five minutes down the road in St. martinville.

At least he would at least beat Nicholls and give him couple more years and he will have ASU in the tourn.
