Imagine Les teaching a class at LSU

Jim Tressel teaches a class at Ohio State on football strategy. The students were talking about how hard the class was. Imagine if Les taught the same class at LSU. No one in the class would understand what he was saying. The students would leave his class wondering what he just talked about for the last hour. They would have the same feeling that most fans have after his talk show.

I wonder if Tressel talks about the time he faced Les as a case study.

My inability to ever fully embrace the Hat as some have been able to do, is due in large part to his inability to articulate in an understandeable manner. It has always made me think he doesn't know any better.
It's not fair but that's my issue and as long as LSU wins I can give a rat's arse. I'm ultimately an LSU fan and I can separate how I feel about a coach from passion for my team. I did it with Dale Brown for 25 years.
But I'll never be a big Hat fan, that's just the honest reality. Seems to be a good guy and for that I'm thankful. I'd hate for him to be a sleazy a-hole who couldn't articulate like a Petrino or Urine.

Balls get you an A in class.

What a change that would be. The regular students would have to have the football players tutor them on what in the hell he was talking about.

DECIPHER THIS 101. Seriously, though...I think he tries too hard not to reveal too much, and it just comes out off kilter. You know he HAS to be able to make sense at least some of the time...why would we keep getting the talent year after year if he was this confusing to the players?

I bet he would be eating the chalk.

I don't know that it gets you an A, but fans love that shite...so it helps us forget much of the lack of organization and attention that is still a reality IMHO.
I tell you what, I'm gonna give the guy credit. I would never run a play that calls for running parralel to the line of scrimmage for that long on 4th and 1. Never...that's insane. That's why it worked!
Much like Dale, never a dull moment and you're never quite sure what might happen next. Dude eats grass...will he start looking for Bigfoot next?

I've taken many a class at LSU where I walked out after an hour feeling like this. So your point is?

The final exam would be scary.

Those gutsy calls have to work. For the most part they have, but his inability to articulate really leaves him with less margin of error than most coaches.
When one of those bold moves doesn't work, and it's gonna happen...the warm feelings of the one's that worked will be forgotten quickly by most. You can take that to the bank. Fair or unfair.

It must be a 101 class or a remedial class.

My quote from Full Metal Jacket was obviously a stab at humor! But to be honest I would rather have a coach with the guts to lay it on the line when it matters most! I'd also rather have a coach the the players obviously love and play their asses off for week in and week out despite what is being said by the media and general public or so called fans! Let's look at Texas University as an example...Mac Brown...gives a good interview...more articulate than Miles...projected to be a national championship contender...losing season...team has quit on him!!!
So how can you say that his inability to articulate to your level of satisfaction gives him less margin for error? Apparently his team understands and believes in him!!!
