We are traveling into Hammond (from Bham) and staying Friday night. Looking to get into some serious cajun food Friday night.

Anyone have suggestions on where we should eat that night or on Saturday?

The man is looking for a restaurant, not seafood in the hood. Go to Robetos' on River Road just outh of the city. Google the name, for a map.

Stay away from Acme, they defrost everything frozen out of a bag with the exception of thier oysters.

Roberto's is one of my favs in town worth the 15 min drive I go once a week. Can't beat Mike Anderson on LEE. Little Village downtown is great, yeah stay away from ACME it ain't worth nothing.

I second the Roberto's recommendation but that's a long ways from Hammond. That's damn near LSU stadium. In that area all I know of is Middendorfs in Manchac, and the place on the lake in LaPlace (can't think of the name). Come into Baton Rouge and go to Louisiana Lagnaippe. Again that's a good ways from Hammond (30 miles).

I would go to Troy's, Junior's, or T-Mike's

OK...Maybe not T-Mike's.

I think there is a Dons seafood in Hammond but I've never eaten there. Can't say if it's good. I've seen good and poor reviews.

La. Lagnaippe or Don's on Airline........

ETA: The Don's on Airline has been there for many years prior to other locations and is hands down better than the others!!!

Considering that you will be in Hammond, I think the easiest choice is Don's. It is not the best, but it is better than some of the other choices mentioned in this thread. I know after driving as far as you will be going, a five minute drive to a restaurant will be a hell of a lot easier to deal with.
