As I look at the posts on the rant I see the majority of them being negative and already saying this year is over because we are 7-1...WTF? Do people not realize that our last two national titles we had one and two loss seasons? All this whining and complaining has really just become unpleasant and I find it funny that people expect us to go undefeated every year when we play in the toughest conference in college football. Lets be a little more optimistic here people we still have a lot of football left this season. If we win out the rest of our games and Auburn loses at Bama and to Ole Miss we're right back in title hunt. And dont dare say thats a long shot because it was a freaking miracle that we went to the title game in 07.

LSU Football is supposed to be fun which seems to be lost to a lot of people on this board. There is still much to be happy about our Tigers.

100th in total offense.

I'm all for 7-1 and I'm actually some of the delusional few who think Auburn can lose 2 and we can win out.

But the majority of angry people on here are upset because we recruit but 5 star talent but our coaches can't translate it into actual offensive production. It's like having all the pieces but we can't put them together.

FWIW, out of all FBS schools in Louisiana LSU is last in offense. ULL, ULM, La Tech and Tulane are all ranked ahead of us.

Yeah I get what your saying and agree but all this negative shite is definitely not helping. To the rest of the nation we probably look like a bunch of douches by constantly bashing our players and coaches week after week.

So they can't lose 2? Could the reason be that they are a good team.

Ohhhhhh, shite we got beat by another good team.

Go back into your cave. All is fine. LSU has been doing great the past two years and all is looking bright, especially the offense and qb situation for the rest of this year and next year.

The older fans are better because they know what it's like to lose.

The younger fans lack the patience and wisdom of the older fans. It's to be expected, but it does get tiresome.

I assume I'm an "older" fan (40) to some and a younger fan to others. I moved to Louisiana 2 years after Cholly Mac "retired". Jerry Stovall is the first LSU coach in my world.

I've seen some bad, good, and great LSU football. I was at LSU for the end of Archer and Curley's first 3 years. I came of age under the worst.

I love LSU football and everything about it... win, lose, or tie. Actually, I hated ties. I'm glad they're gone.

I'm definitely more critical of LSU now though because:

1) LSU raised the bar of what is possible. I'd like to keep it there
2) The Internet allows us to dissect every single thing about the team
3) I think I sometimes get caught up in the negativity which is rampant on message boards

It doesn't matter though. I'll still be a fan at 1-7 or 7-1.

It isn't like LSU is the only team that recruits "5 star talent". You know, like Texas, currently 4-3. USC is falling off a cliff. Etc.

Also remember that the whole star ranking system is pretty loose, 5 stars is no guarantee of success. There are plenty of NFL players who were 2 star HS recruits.
