If something like this happened, I must admit:

Now, I'd be upset about the new hire too ...

... but for all you tools slavering and fantasizing: "Gruden!" etc.:

I'm going to take a moment and laugh my arse off at your meltdown on this board when Alleva hires Houston Nutt or Mike Gundy to replace Miles.

Talks about how Miles loves Boulder and he was the Offensive Line Coach under McCartney when U of C won the National Champsionship...just sayin

This is one of the most "Mystifying" facts of all this wretched excess discussion of the +'s and -'s of Les Miles.

Miles is a former offensive lineman and has coached OL under multiple coaches, yet can't recruit OL worth a damn. We all know the ridiculous attrition rate of OL under Miles for multiple reasons. Academics [Wilson-Loadholt-Hammrick], Home Sickness and/or lack of playing time [Allen-Singleton-Lowe-Spencer], Personal reasons [Tiger Rant two day superstar Ainsworth) Fighting [Anderson] Criminal Activity [Thomas], "Alleged" Drug Useage [McCoy-Jones ] and a few injury related medical hardships which are just plain bad luck. [Snyder-Parsons] Parsons was also suspended for selling tickets. (Dude gets moved from OL, looks like the future starting fullback, then winds up hurting his neck)

Also seems to be connected at the hip (Just like his starting QB) with his OL coach, who has shown "Questionable" ability in teaching and developing his players.

Overall, LM just hasn't shown that he has an instinct for recognizing potential character flaws in the OL's he recruits and has not been a very good talent evaluator for the position that he's actually played. (Among other things) OL should be the strong point of the team and it's not.............

Dan Hawkins will get fired at the end of the season. Les won't replace him. Dave Logan the ex CU WR would be a dark horse candidate. He's got a lot of backing among the deep pocket CU boosters.

I just have a strange feeling that when Miles leaves (whether by choice or involuntarily), the LSU program is in for a rude awakening regardless of who we get as coach.

It just "feels" so much like the Nebraska Solich situation to me. IMO, we will all soon find out what mediocrity really is.

Will we eventually get back to dominance? Sure we will. But it's going to take a dose of reality before we do.

Or get rid of our Ron Zook and hire our Urban Meyer.

You know, I never really thought of Alleva...I don't really have much confidence he would bring in the right person. I hope the TAF gives him some hints.

CO needs "deep pockets" to hire a HS fooball coach?

The same Urban Meyer who won an NC with Ron Zook's players, another with a freak of nature quarterback, quit for a day, and has now shite in his pants?

somehow, someway, Miles will get the last laugh at LSU fans.

I'm confident in that, and unfortunately I'm not looking forward to the time period where we will all - as LSU fans - suffer in the end.

If you ever doubt that Miles is at least a little bit smart. Posts like this should remove it faster than Gold Star Ointment.

You can't deny that Miles really does have some people fooled.

Unfortunately, this poster will never be a defensive coordinator.

They can do much better recruiting a high school coach.

Got news for you...as much as we rip on Les Miles, he would be a SERIOUS upgrade for Colorado over Dan Hawkins. And I'm not a huge Miles fan, either.

All we need is for Miles to stay. A new OC. And hire me to be the clock management guru and we are set! I can count to 3 (Timeouts) and I know when time is running out. I can also be prepared to call a play on the sidelines when needed!

but can you coach an "offensive" offensive line? or how about being a QB coach showing JJ how to throw a 5 yard pass without getting a running back or wide receiver decapitated or having to catch a pass at his knees?.. or teach our wide receivers not to drop balls in crucial times?..and do you own a Timex that works?..

Dave Logan has supposedly been a candidate for their last two hires. He isnt ever getting that job. I believe just last week the Denver Post also had an article about Bill McCartney returning to coach CU. They have very little credibility in my mind.

I doubt it. Though I wouldn't blame Les if he did take another job.

And i havent been a Les fan in a while.

It's a possibility. Les could take the job at CU and we know the expectations are much much lower. Depends on how competitive he is. Recruiting will be a beyotch there for him though. It would possibly be a career saver for him if he did take another job.

Pretty sure this CU stuff is just speculation though.

I don't buy the fear that you and others have of completely failing if a change were to be made from Miles.

I think some of you have that same thing with LSU football that people who have been cheated on by their significant other have - "well, I know he/she is cheating on me and treats me like shite, but I will NEVER find anyone else better, so I'm gonna just put up with the bullshite and learn to forgive".

This is close.

But it's more like. Yeah, it's true that she's fat, ugly, and dumb as rocks. But I know she'll never cheat on me.

shite, she's always late for dinner too.

You know what else? When we play Monopoly, she always puts hotels on Mediterrainean and Baltic and acts like she's won the game. Like she puts hotels on the two cheapest properties and folds her arms like, "How do you like me now?"

Weird.
