Not sure how to find the true value of a used boat. Have used NADAGUIDES.COM but it hard to narrow down to what if found in ads. Any advice?

Just depends on the type of boat and the year.

Price the boat new. Take the age of boat times pi and subtract from new price, there's your offer.

DUDE in this economy tell them what you will pay for it.Get a few you like and bargain with them.If your looking for a saltwater rig look everywhere in the boats hull for neglect.Get a compression test done on motor, make sure yu check the trailer out very well.

Definitely the right time of year to buy a saltwater boat. Many people have them parked for the winter and may be looking for money to spend on hunting season. In the current market you should be able to low ball them by a few thousand off of NADA.
Look for cracks in the gelcoat, inspect the transom, make sure all electrical is working etc. Also like others said, electronics don't really add that much unless you are talking about a $5k ray marine radar/gps/sonar in dash flat screen setup.

Can you deal on a new boat like you deal on a car? Do dealers come down much?

First off, if your going to buy, do it now! My suggestion is that you DO NOT buy a new boat! The economy sucks and people just want them out of their yards! Also, people who can't hold in to them fish oooooone last summer then sell. Price the boat brand new, then get there opening price. Start by low balling the shite out of em! Slowly work up, I know people who've gotten awsome boats for nothing! Good luck

I have a 1999 16ft x 56in Camo Duracraft with a 50 hp Johnson. Rig runs great. I added a stereo CD system, speakers, rod holders and many extra's. I love the boat just never get to use it. Thinking about selling it. The boat is really clean. Great paint job.

No, keep looking though. You'll eventually find a good deal on an Xpress or similar boat (G3, Alumnacraft, SeaArc, Bass Tracker, etc). They have thousands of them out there. I have two cousins that got great deals on Xpress boats.

One was a 2005 Xpress 18ft Bass boat with a 90 Yamaha 4 stroke, bought in 2008 for $8500.

The other was a 2003 Xpress 20ft bass with a Yamaha 150 4 stroke, bought in 2007 for $10,000.

2005 Xpress Bass 17ft, 115 Yamaha, $12k

2005 Xpress 20' CC, 120 Johnson, $10,500

Both of these look like they are pretty good deals and you can almost count on knocking at least $500 off each.
