With the bye week ahead I figured we could move on to discussions not involving the qb situation and Les and Gary being morons. Ok, We lose 3 huge defensive players, but we are deep on the D-line and the secondary. Offensively I dont see how we arent suffeciently better. Our O-line should be solid, and with the possible pickup of Mettenberger, how are the feelings on our production next season?

We are going to have MAJOR problems at LB next year and the QB situation is bleak at best.

Same production on offense. Les will not change the QB rotation.

It's probable that Les and Gary remain morons.

We lose one LB. Better o-line play next year will = better qb play.

Ummm, the LBs aren't really that good this year save Shep. He's a huge hole to fill next year.

So deep that we got man-handled by Auburn's O-Line...

Hopefully Gary will be gone and we bring in a non-autistic person for OC.

So guys don't work out and get better in the offseason? Why even play the games then. You are basically saying there is nobody on the roster that can play MLB next year no matter what.

Agree about the QB situation currently but linebackers will be solid. Only one Sr, albeit a good one, and Baker poised to be the man next year. Maclin, Minter and Jones come into the mix with an outstanding freshman in Randle on the way.

Problem is we start the season with Oregon, i chalk that up as a loss....Oregon will be coming of a big season and returning most starters. We also play Bama at Bama, a new QB situation helps but by then he will be in a grove. Arkansas will be better, Auburn will be great if they have Newton, if not then they will be ok. West Virginia at West Virginia wont be easy at all. Florida....well they could have a new OC or a new HC. I see 8-4 or 7-5 honestly. Mostly because we kill ourselves with the schedule. Also gotta go on the road in Knoxville.

of course they do. it's too easy to just forget the OBVIOUS problems at hand and say "wait till next year". reminds me of the pre 2009 fricking saints!!!

IF we hire a good OC, we should be improved at every position next season EXCEPT the secondary... UNLESS PP7 comes back for some unknown reason.

As long as Les keeps the coaches he has and Auburn and Bama do too, we will lose to both the majority of the time.

Baker is better than Shepp.

Shepp is overhyped on this board.

2011 should be a year LSU makes a serious run at the SEC championship. Need to correct some problems first but the personnel will be there.

I dont see how we lost 5 games. Losing Kelvin is a huge loss, but I still see us having a great dline and secondary. I do agree that out LB core is a big worry. Offensively we should have much better o-line play, which should make for a more potent running attack. I just hope we make a switch in OC and That Mettenberger comes and beats out JJ and JL. Doubt that will happen, but if it does I think it looks pretty good

I think Baker is amazing, but I disagree with this.

Shepp lines the guys up so he gets credit with that.

But since the Tennessee game, he's been non-existent as a playmaker. Every team figured out the best way to play him is to go right at him. He can't fight off blocks. Tennessee, Florida, McNeese and Auburn all blocked right at him and he ended up with decent tackle numbers by piling on in plays that were run away from him.
