good or bad decision? Obviously Chavis has a good plan to stop Auburn's offense but a lot of people have been talking about which LSU player would spy Cam Newton

"Assigning one player to Auburn quarterback Cam Newton, or a "spy" in football parlance, is not an effective way to defend the Heisman Trophy candidate, LSU Coach Les Miles said Wednesday."

"In Wednesday's SEC Coaches telelconference, Miles said concentrating on him with a player would upset the balance of the defense and allow other players to hurt the LSU effort."

Why the frick would you want our head coach telling the other fricking team what we're going to do to them? Some of you people are fricking insane.

eta: Spying Newton could really bite us in the arse anyway.

Personally, I think the staff is more qualified to make that decision, so I'm gonna go with them. I'm sure we'll spy in certain sitches though, and the personnel will be different everytime.

Because posters here think Miles owe them the gameplan.

If there is any part of the coaching staff I have full confidence in, it is Chavis and his defense.

Miles has never deceived the other side going into a game though, right?

he's going to spy with our invisible player

quote:

"It becomes a very difficult situation, in my opinion, to put one guy on Cam Newton," Miles said. "It just doesn't seem to pay any dividends, to me.

"If I could have a spy that no one could see, or if I could have a guy on the field that didn't count, I would think that would be a great answer."

... sounds more to me like he's saying the coverage on the Fig will be varied and hard for him to focus on just one particular guy coming after him all day.....

Check my post history. I dont stir shite.

I assumed like a lot of others LSU would have someone spy Newton (and still may during the course of the game) but I have confidence Chavis has a good game plan against AU offense
