Note since this is for a Classification purpose same sex schools like Jesuit must dbl the # so divide by 2 to get the actual number for school like that

I think it's just 64 biggest schools in the state, but I may be wrong.

The guys on ESPN 97.7 were talking about this today . One of this is post to do a breakdown and I think estimate at atleast what North LA schools will be affected

How often do they reclassify schools? I see some 1a schools with more students than 2a.

i'm wondering about sam houston....they have been 4A for over 10 years now, but moss bluff continues to grow in all directions....i've heard the numbers they put out are skewered every year

since last realignment, haughton has passed st thomas more in enrollment

STM is one of the smallest 5A schools with 1,050 and ranked #2 in the state

sam houston has over 100 more than STM and is still 4A

Some 2A schools are actually Class B schools that got too big for B but still dont play football. If a B school has to move up they go to 2A. Class A is B and C size schools that play football

They classify from A up to 5A so 5A is actually the smallest number of schools

So 64 A
64 AA
Etc with 5A getting what is left
Then they move schools up or down based on politics and travel

STM will probably be 4A next year which creates a conundrum with Teurlings possibly being in their district. Which the Diocese does not want

Stm had a huge senior class in 2010
Higher academics tougher admissions and the economy have cost stm about 100 kids in 2 years

Stm could possibly win 5A and then move down with almost every key player coming back next year
