Is Nevis having a better season than Dorsey did in 2007?

It's becoming a legit question, IMO. If he isn't at least on the All-America team...wtf.
And remember, Dorsey took home every conceivable national award for a defensive player of the year in 2007.

yes, dude has been virtually unblockable, double team, triple team, what frickin ever!
he's just not getting Dorsey type recognition because Dorsey had his name out there, people knew who he was!

Yes, he is. Nevis is more consistently disrupting plays in the backfield than Dorsey did.

There hasnt been a better DT so far this year. Fairley from Auburn has been good, but Nevis has been unbelieveable.

Dorsey said his senior year somewhere to watch out for Nevis, he is gonna be a beast.Something like that. He is doing awesome.

bingo
Dorsey had all the hype coming into 2007
Not saying he wasn't a very good player in '07, but I actually think he had a better season in '06. But yeah, those awards are mostly about preseason hype.
We'll see how the rest of the season plays out, but so far...
Nevis 2010 > Dorsey 2007

I think so, Dorsey was not at his best for a good part of '07 though...that being said I still think Nevis is better. Unblockable

those post-season awards are basically a two year process. you have a big year one year, get your name pumped up, and have another solid season to take them home.

To be fair - Fairley leads the SEC in TFL and has the same number of sacks and doesn't have the support of a great D like Nevis does.

I know Dorsey was not the best LSU player ever, but he is my favorite of all time. That being said, there are huge parallels between Glenn and Nevis, but Dorsey was more of a showman on the field with the stomp after a big play and things like that. Nevis just gets up and goes back to the huddle. Admirable but different. Skill-wise though, I think they're extremely close.

Dorsey '06 = Nevis '10
Dorsey '07 < Nevis '10
Dorsey '07 < Nevis '10

Did y'all see the hit on Addai by Dorsey yesterday? I cringed for Addai.

Dorsey was hurt most of the '07 season...Auburn, chop block, remember. So the comparison has to be to '06. Both have/had great supporting casts, which is a major part of their ability to dominate...I call it a wash and choose to sit back and enjoy. Just think if Nevis had not been forced to play in '07 because of Alexander and Dorsey injuries...he would have a Jr. by his name.
