I don't think you're picking up what I'm laying down.

Fade routes executed by our personnel do not exist.

This wasn't intended to be a fade route.

I never want to see a fade in our offense, ever again with our present QB's. For that matter, I'm not convinced anyone outside of Randle could be trusted to come down with the ball.

This particular play with Ridley was a swing pass, that turned into a fade when properly defended. From my angle, Ridley looked as though he would clear, but he took the route up instead of outside, and the defender closed.

I see now. Well, that was the slowest developing swing pass play from the 8 yd line we may ever see.

And I agree, it isn't something well suited for this team(fade tosses), despite the appearance of the needed parts to execute such a play.

Crowton is absolutely in charge of playcalling.

Does Miles limit what Crowton can use? Does he over rule what Crowton dials up?

Crowton implements the scheme (i.e. the playbook). It's his offense.

Crowton has the majority of control of offensive game planning.

Miles helps organize the "play card" which lists certain plays for certain situations.

Crowton calls the vast majority of plays during games and is in charge of personnel packages.

Miles retains override authority and will direct Crowton to do certain things at certain times (not really call plays, but order a run here or a pass there, or tell him to get a certain player involved.)

Its not groundbreaking stuff dmitch is getting ready to post. Its pretty much common knowledge that Miles limits the plays he's allowed to call, alot. Mike Belotti pretty much verified that when he said it didn't look like Crowton's offense at all. Belotti was the head coach at Oregon when GC was there.

You know. I have asked like six different people who have claimed this to link it or show me where it took place and none can.

I'm beginning to think that this is just a rumor that grew legs.

And, FWIW, this looks a lot like Oregon's offense in 2006.

I know man, Im not one of those kats

Listened to GG last night on his NOLA show.

He laid it out like this which I can buy:

GC decides the "package", 3wrs/ 2tes etc

then chooses his play. GG says this is where the time becomes a issue since GG is focused on matchups vs the def more than getting the play sent down and run.

He had Jimbo on as a guest. Jimbo took no shots, was very nice, said he didn't know enough about the last 30 sec of the UT game but GG asked him how Jimbo handles that type situation. Jimbo said his most important thing is "getting the ball to his big playmaker" in that situation, not matchups or trying to trick the def...

I seriously hope this isn't true, because Crowton couldn't create a mismatch if his life depended on it.

That's just it, if LSU recruits a lean leaper in 6'-6" Tolliver, why not have him as the target instead of a fireplug 6'-0" RB, and throw the ball to the outside shoulder, where only he can make a play on it?

Wahoocs, they used Tolliver and rightly tonight. Glad to TT win at Gainesville where Urban negatively recruited him years ago. TT was huge tonight.
