Jacque Doucet gets props for telling Miles
JD is being cheered in some of the threads this afternoon for commenting negatively to Miles' face. This is similar to reporters making long statements/questions to Pres. Bush. In fact, Pres. Bush had a similar response - "Is there a question in there?". This silliness has to be discouraged. One reporter who threw a show at Pres. Bush during his presser in Baghdad was hailed by local yokels. Any LSU fan who thinks that blatant disregard for common protocol will in future be compared to Philadelphia fans (at best) - not cool at all.

I don't like the hike in prices, but will pay to buy out Miles' contract
Common bitching theme includes money for LSU tickets, concessions etc
- ordinary mom & pop are mainstays of LSU fanbase. they cannot afford the tickets
- why can't LSU give hot dogs away for fans during spring game
- it was so cold, LSU did not provide hot cocoa
- windows don't cost that much
- I'm already paying XYZ fee, I should be able to park where I want, do what I want yada yada
But is now willing to pay towards a Les Miles buyout.

Miles is an idiot
I'm making comments using a nom de plume. It's easy to be an internet tough guy under such aliases. Does it make one feel better to be calling someone names? Fans have constantly been mistaking uncouth behavior for intense fan. LSU.. LSU.. SEC.. SEC.. The statement above has been used so often over the last year, even younger fans who frequent this board openly recite that statement about an adult.

Miles makes $4 Mill
This is the ultimate proof little guy syndrome. If Les made $2 Mill, would his success be acceptable? Miles was supposed to be a cheap hire ('He did not earn Saban contract' - Skip). He reached his benchmarks and got his salary. There is a backlash against NFL players if there is a lockout, but no one ever blames the owners. It's always at visible symbols that we display our resentment, though we are neither capable of owning/managing billion dollar teams nor have the skill to play like the players do. We can see Les and think that we can do his job better than he can, at least the last 30 secs of Tenn game.

We need to take a look at the big picture, instead of constantly living the life of a Yaketeer. We need to make talking about, watching, and reading about LSU football fun again. Be an LSU fan - stop being petty .. be a big guy.

People who use this against Miles have no credibility whatsoever.

FWIW, the only person I have ever heard make these points is Richard Condon.

orly? So you don't see how increased compensation carries with it increased expectations and responsibility?

I bet you're confused why walmart greeters dont have six figure salaries too.

at anyone who tries to make excuses for another Miles clock management blunder.

I have come to expect incompetence when it comes to organization and efficiency on gamedays. I honestly can't fathom anyone who wants to back Miles after what he did Saturday. We lost that game and got very very lucky

OK, I'll spell it out since it's obvious you don't get it. He is the head coach of a major program. He was in a position in his career where he had a choice, and so did LSU. You either let him go, or you pay him what it takes to keep him. How much is irrelevant. LSU made the decision to pay it. Look back at the OP's rhetorical question and think upon it for a bit.

Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

As a customer, do you care how much Walmart's CEO makes? The compensation is decided by its board. Customer can affect the salary by patronizing a different company.
Same thing with Miles, you can ignore the product till they change the team. If you still continue to buy into the product, you are looking at the AmWay model.

It's about us rejoicing at JD telling Miles off. Do you think that reporters should be asking questions or making statements?

I read part of it, but could not understand it. It was English, and had some semblance of structure, but just made no sense.
