Clock management is not the problem

Clock management (as bad as it was) is simply not nearly as much a concern as dropped passes, turnovers and penalties.
If those had been solved LSU would have been kneeling the ball with a 2 touchdown lead. Yes, clock management wasn't great but I'd much prefer seeing the Tigers with a potent enough offense that it doesn't matter.

they are all problems that don't seem to be getting corrected.

so are you implying it was mistakes by the players that nearly cost us the game sat. and not leslie's total incompetence? (both of these are his responsibility by the way).

I agree those issues over the long haul are troubling, yet the fundamental failure of the coaching staff to have the plays ready tells me they will not fix the other issues either.

Happen to everybody.

Clock management
Does not happen to anybody but LSU to the extent that it does.
It may be that it is a small part of the game, but as a signalling indicator of poor coaching, it is a much greater concern than random mistakes.
You're way off base here.

seems like a problem to me? when you are aware that your offense is not doing well you damn well better know what to do when the game gets down to crunch time. you should prepare your team for a close game and have YOUR frickING PLAYS CALLED BEFORE your teams goes out on the field.
"we should of had 2 plays called" -LM well at least he "learned"

It's every bit as much of a concern
You have to expect that at some point you're going to be in close games. Clock management becomes critical in these situations.
It's fricking incredibly stupid to just dismiss it as "not a big deal because the game shouldn't have been that close"
The game WAS that close. So according to your logic, in fantasy land it's not that big of a deal.

same problems but droppped passes and misques hurt the whole game.....clock management with a chance to win seals the deal on losing a game....

I cannot remember from last nite because of my drunken haze
but were we out of TO's or what? Why was Jefferson once again looking at the sidelines wondering what tha frick to do!

Right. It was dumb luck that won us that game at the end.
I've just come to accept that anytime LSU is in a close game at the end now, we're just going to have to witness complete randomness and pray that we luck out the win. There is no strategy.

Powerman nails it. One of the things LSU should have been doing the first four games is working on its 2:00 offense, so that if you find yourself in a situation where you need to drive for a TD or a FG, then the team will be familiar with the drill (and so will the coaches).
Not planning on that inevitability is the fault of the head coach who makes millions of dollars a year, not some 20-year-old.

you win the "I love JJ and Miles, and will blame things on anything and everything but these 2 clowns, forever and forever amen" homer award of the century.

What's "the" problem is not the problem. The fact that that it's "a" problem is the problem. The problem with all the other problems are not as problematic as what the problem that this problem causes. Problem is, they're all problematic and they all need to be solved. But the biggest problem is that we have NO PROBLEM SOLVER!!

I don't think he's trying to say that, but the point is that clock mismanagement relates directly to all the CORE problems LSU experiences on offense in terms of basic coordination and getting everyone on the same page.
The other things (dropped passes, turnovers and penalties) have been known to happen even with great offenses. They have more to do with getting the details right than anything else.

We were out of timeouts with 32 seconds left to go on 2nd and 1, and Jefferson went in for Lee after an incomplete pass where no PI penalty was called on Clement. The rest is history.
As to why JJ didn't understand the situation on his own, we are all equally dumbfounded.

let me show you how stupid this line of thinking is:
We shouldnt bother practicing 3rd down, because if we execute 1st and 2nd down properly, we'll never see 3rd down.
doesnt that sound dumb?
just because you dont expect to be in that position doesnt mean you shouldnt be prepared for it... esp when youre paid millions.
thread failure factor:
epic

+1.
The poor performance is shared by Miles and the Players.

Look, idiots can live mistakes, learn from them and correct them.
Insanity = doing the same thing hoping for different results.
These are issues that should have been practiced and corrected, not continuously relived. It is absolutely unacceptable.
