How do y'all do cheat days? Do y'all do the whole day or just a cheat meal on that day? I'm sure just a cheat meal would be conducive to the results I'd want but I'd like to hear y'all's thoughts.
Its a good idea to count your calories on cheat days also. If you go overboard it can easily wipe out your whole weeks worth of calorie deficits.

I do what tduecen and mouton do. The only time I didn't was 2 weekends ago when I went to New Orleans. I didn't go overboard. No fast food. Didn't eat late. And didn't pig out or gorge myself. I don't "cheat" often. But if I do I still factor it into my caloric intake and I just pay attention to what I'm eating.

Please inform me, aside from still watching calories, not eating late and not gorging. I'm a newbie to this cheat day stuff. I hear some eating all kinds of stuff, but I don't want to destroy the gains (losses) I've made.

I have a good friend who is a personal trainer. He has a cheat day every Sunday. And every Sunday I argue with him about his methods. He eats almost anything and everything. A ton of processed foods, sugars, calories, fats, just anything and everything. It's a gorge cheat. And I've never agreed with this kind of cheating. You will find articles and arguments on both.
My feeling, and understanding, based on hundreds of other accounts and my own personal trial and error over several years, is that if you are looking to lose weight and must cheat, then keep it as clean as possible.
There was a discussion in here about everyone's psychological relationship with food. I'm not hooked on food. Some are. If you NEED ice cream then my feeling is that there are much healthier options out there for you that will remind you of, or trick your mind into thinking it's ice cream. Rather than getting a pint of Ben and Jerry's.
Anyway. Went off on a tangent. My typical cheat day consists of me eating some bread. More carbs than usual. Maybe some rice if I go eat out and it's served with my meal. I don't drink, usually, during the week. So a few beers maybe. Cheese can be in there. All stuff I don't usually eat. But if I feel a need for a cheat day. Once every other week or so. Then that's what I'll do.
A "clean" cheat if you must. Don't worry so much if it's fitting in you caloric limit or macro levels. But don't go extremely overboard. Now sure, after over 2 months of clean eating and 3 times of clean cheating during that time, I had one weekend of basically not thinking about anything. Although I didn't let go all control, I enjoyed myself in New Orleans. But this is because I know my goals and what I need to do to reach them. Everyone is different. My mental strength is fairly strong so it's easy for me to not have cheat days.
Sorry. I know tl;dr. But basically I don't go nuts but don't keep it strict when I cheat. I eat a few things I don't typically and that's about it. Just be smart. Learn your body.

My cheat day generally consists of a box of cinnamon toast crunch, sushi, an assload of stuffed grape leaves, some cinnamon rolls , sometimes pizza. Basically I eat a ton of carbs, but try to watch fat intake and not go to overboard on calories. The rest of the week my fat and protein intake is high and carbs are very low.

My cheat day last week consisted of 10-12 beers and pizza for lunch but then baked chicken for dinner.
I track everything I eat from mycaloriecounter so I know most days I either hit my calorie goal or I'm under (I have it set to lose 1LB a week) so my goal is 1772. My cheat day I usually go 1000-2000 over that goal. However, I exercise 6 days a week and I don't input that data so at end of week I know if I went over say 2000 I've burned more calories by being active/working out/doing my cardio.
I've had cheat days where I would gorge in past but then next day I felt like shite so I've learned to back off from the gorging. If I want a particular food I will eat it on my cheat day but my next meal will be a healthier option.

303/214.4/200
Slight uptick from yesterday but expected since it was heavy lift day. Goal of 200 by end of August out of reach but can hit it by end of September. 210 is new goal for August
213.4 after workout, 3 days in a row I'm same weight after my workout scale may be broken

fast Friday
I've cheated every which way in this thread. It doesn't matter as long as you keep the cheat to one day and get back to work the next day.

Abs are becoming more visible. I've never ever ever been able to see my abs in my life until the last few days. Not where I want to be yet but closing in.
Best shape of my life right now probably. Way better than high school

335/312.8/275 to start
Losing about a pound a day it seems. Mostly water weight since I just started last week. I know the body is composed of 70ish% of water, and I got a big body
But 12-13 pounds of it?
I know I'm way under on my calorie intake. I think I saw one cal calc that to hit my first goal of 275 I should be consuming ~3575/day but that seems way too high. All I eat a day is a pear for breakfast, 2 small sandwiches for lunch (chicken and turkey, no cheese or mayo etc), and a mesquite chicken plate or a southwest omelette (made with said chicken and some jalapeño peppers and a bit of low fat cheese). Combined with about 5 minutes of jump rope a day then some weight lifting about 3 days a week with some rowing and treadmill to begin and end the workout.

Probably not eating enough. Sounds weird, I know, but it's the truth. Depending on your job, your body may naturally burn anywhere from 15-2000 calories/day doing what you normally do. Factor in exercise and other things and some calcs will give you a high number like that.
I don't know if you should eat that much. But definitely more.

When I first lost my weight I was losing 15-20 pounds a month for the first 3 months then it started coming off slower.

I used to do cheat days, but now I limit it to a cheat meal at dinner once a week. Or, if I skip a cheat meal, I can do a cheat day once every 2 weeks or so.

You've been absent lately, was wondering what happened

I discovered something during cheat meals. I eat really clean and discovered I no longer like the taste of pasta, biscuits or ice cream. I like pizza sauce and cheese but not the crust so I can just put pizza toppings on a chicken breast or a hamburger patty. Basically anything loaded with chemicals/preservatives tastes chemically to me. My cheats consist of something like sugar free yogurt or gelato with fruit (I normally do not eat artificial sweetener and don't keep it in the house), rice or sushi is certainly a cheat for me. Or oatmeal. I make clean cookies with bananas, applesauce and oats.
