So far, he's brought the Defense back from the dead. (if you're gonna blame him for the offense you have to credit him for the defense. Chavis is his guy same as Crowton

He's the one that screwed it up in the first place with Malveto. He had to make a change after his initial attempt was wrong. See where this is headed?

I just find the hysterics to be a bit over the top. Other than JJ this team rocks right now.

Yeah, he's kinda important... lol But come on now, this is one badass defense. And Special teams is lights out. It's a pity we don't have a QB but answer the question.... what if we did?

For the record I don't think JJ is smart enough to play QB at this level and certainly not under a retard like Crowton, but what if he suddenly did? We saw flashes of it at Auburn last year. What if he was able to do that every game? This would be a championship team. And this board would STILL be calling for Les's head.

Because this board is populated by ignorant mouth breathers.

Then there is no problem and Miles was justified.

But you are delusional if you actually think that is going to happen.

Well, we could move up from 115th to somewhere in the low 100s in passing...

He was 182/296 with 2166 yards 17 TD's and 7 INT's last year.

It's still not fixing his problems.

would be calling for Les' head if we got competent QB play. Couple that with some decent play calling and this team would contend for championships.
I agree with u here.

What if Thomas Dunson came back and started coaching the LBs?

What if Trindon grew a foot taller?

What if Herman Johnson wasn't the largest baby ever born in Louisiana?

What if we found out that Les Miles is actually Bo Schembechler's illegitimate son?

What if Lou Tepper wrote a book implying he knew how to coach LBs? .... oh wait that actually happened.

We could go on an on all day and night.

Reality? He ain't getting better. He's getting worse.

jdutch75 is it reasonable to expect perfection every year though? I know JJ is a far cry from average, much less perfection and if it was up to me we'd start Lee Saturday and I would have sworn hell would have to freeze over before we'd ever see that day. But one element is broken on a powerhouse team, a team that's come from SUCK after we lost Pellini and nobody worthy was available to this amazing D we have now with a real live Defensive Legend on staff, and we've still got people just as adamant to fire the coach? To what end? I know these idiot think we could summon The Bear or Lombardi from the grave to have the special honor of coaching at LSU but get real people. We're talking about coaches that have a choice in the matter. They don't have to go to the one place where you will never be good enough if you don't win a championship every year. I fear we'd end up with much worse than Miles.

Is that not good enough to win every game this year? It was good enough to keep every game close last year...

I have only 3 big issues with Miles the coach, and only 2 that are really important.

1) His speaking style and lack of x's and o's talk, but I can get over this
2) His inability to phase his great recruiting to the big picture, notably the QB and Oline trends
3) His tendency to make poor player personnel decisions, notably JJ at the moment.

I think #1 is not so important on the field of play itself, so I can deal with it, and deem it just out of my preference. I think he will learn and fix his mistakes on the recruiting issue.

I see no evidence in him fixing #3, but if he ever tucks his tail and improves, I think he can lead us to the promise land once again.

If he does so, he will seal the deal with most of the fanbase.

If he holds his ground and costs PP, Sheppard and Nevis a special year, and because of his hard-headedness we end up losing 3 or 4 out of the big 4 games in 2010, he will lose most of the fan base and possibly his job.

This thread is about Jefferson playing well. His stats last year, while better than this year, are still not considered playing well imo.

It's somewhere under a beach front golf course on the Yucatan Peninsula.

When you find it you'll be about as rich as Miles, maybe a tad bit more.

I'd have to guess that they dressed up another QB to look like JJ...
