like the captain of the titanic stubbornly tied himself to the route of the ship.

What about Lee's on-field performance makes you think he can float?

More like Jim Haslett stubbornly tied himself to Aaron Brooks.

You were tied up on that ship not too long ago yourself

The same stubborness was displayed in 2008 when he committed to J. Lee. Just sayin.

I have no problems with Lee playing a few series, but to think he is the answer is just willingly overlooking his performance to focus on his potential.

I keep thinking of how spurrier would handle this situation. Spurrier would be rotating in cheer leaders by now looking for someone that could pass.

He cannot do any worse. Yes he could throw a pick six, pretty much what JJ did last night. I have to think the kid has improved over the last 2 years. All we have to go on is his performance as a shell shocked freshman and a lackluster start against La Tech last year. I will take his lackluster over JJ's non performance at this point.
I feel for the kid. I am absolutley sure he is doing what he can, it just isn't enough.

quote:Precisely my attitude. The problem is, Jefferson is getting progressively worse. Vandy was his worst start ever, and I willing to let one bad start slide. This start may have been worse. I'm not as willing to let this one slide.

I don't think Lee shows up and it will magically turn us into the Saints offense, but I do think that something has to happen, just to shake up a clearly struggling unit. Jefferson was a mediocre last year, if he was doing that again, I'd almost be okay with it. He is performing much, much worse.

agreed
and at that time I wanted jefferson to get some playing time

That's not what he said. He said he does not know that Lee won't play. that's like saying I don't know that I won't fart...between now and morning.

That was different, JJ was a true freshman who had 3 months of practice. Now, they're basically on equal footing.

Pretty sure he said that last week too, and he was right. We're all thinking/hoping it means Lee will get several series, Miles is thinking it means Lee will get one series and hand off at least twice.

And even if he's just as bad, at least then we would know.

Run on 1st, run on 2nd, throw on 3rd.
