Never done a butt roast, but I've injected and deep fried pork loins before I do the turkey. Turns out good.

Pork loin you cook it 7-8 minutes per lb.

I have never even thought about trying this, but does the fat melt down and the meat fall apart like it does for slow cooking?

never tried a pork butt, but have deep fried a spiral cut ham(one of those drunken nights) and it turned out killer!
