I lived in the bay area for ten years. Have fun and spend as much time as possible in the Fisherman's Wharf/Pier 39 area, it's can't miss!!!!!

I ate at Sushi Rika when I was there a couple of weeks ago and it was damn good. I also got an excellent steak at Alfred's. Nob Hill Grille was low key but really good.

Diveman, coolpapaboze spends a month each summer in Napa/San Fran. I don't think he can't afford it.

Go to China Town and walk into any restaurant. They're all the same.

I would recommend trying the Sierra Nevada beers out there.. You will find a lot more selection than you can get here.

Lots of great Chinese in Sunset and Mission areas too. Berkeley and Oakland have some solid fare too, if you survive the ride. SF is right there with NYC NO and Chi, countless dives and no-name corner joints with to-die-for fare. And though not San Diego, SF is a monster fish taco town too!

Never been here, but saw this place on Savory website, video looks outstanding..

Disagree, I went to a place out there last summer in China Town. All three of us felt awful afterward and I yacked. I don't remember the name of the place but they can't all be the same. I'd check the reviews or something first.
