Riddle me this Rant...

If Meyer and Stoops had gone 17-9 in the past 2 seasons with the same talent we had/have and lost games in the ways that we have, and continued to show no improvement in gameplanning, then we could talk.

This isn't about 1 game.

both of the coaches that you mentioned are not 8-8 in their last 2 seasons of conference play and do not come off sounding like morons every time they give media interviews. Furthermore, neither of those coaches have had a debacle like Ole Miss 2009 in recent memory. Finally, both of those coaches have more skins on the wall than Lester (conference titles and/or BCS titles). They have earned a bit of patience from their respective fanbase's. Les Miles has not.

The point of the Rant is that it is a Rant. The Ranters are not the Athletic Directors.

I don't really believe that your reasoning abilities are as shallow as that.

BOSCEAUX, neither Bama nor UF finished with one of the worst offenses in the country last year. Neither Bama nor UF finished with one of the worst defenses in the country the previous year. You're taking anger and frustration that spans across two seasons, and trying to isolate it to ONE scary (and somewhat poorly coached) opening game. Your analogy doesn't work. Let me draw a parallel: Mike has a wife who's been cheating on him for 2 years. All of his friends know it, and they've been screaming "leave her" for those 2 years. And then on Saturday night, she goes to the mall and drops $1000 on a new Gucci bag. Along comes his supportive friend, BOSCEAUX, who says "well Nick and Bob's wives spent a ton of money on Saturday at the mall too -- I guess they should leave their wives". But Nick and Bob's wives haven't been cheating on them for 2 years.

Not rant logic...flawed logic.

If they have two years in a row of doing this consistently, then open the third year with yet another of the same kind of performance, then yes, maybe so.

I gave him 2005 b/c of the hurricane.
The 2006 team should have won a NC as well as 2007 There were far too many blunders b/c of lack of discipline on our players and coaches fault. There is a lack of attention to detail - plain and simple.
I know we won a lot of games, blah, blah blah.
What I haven't seen is continous improvement of our talent. we should have recruits from 2007 stepping in and leading this team. What I have witnessed is no development of his players.
As far as FLA and OU. When was the last time Stoops did anything? I don't think he is a great coach. Hell, he lost to Les 2 out of 4 years.
The difference between Urban and Les is I have confidence that Urban will get his offense running in the right direction. Meanwhile, his D looked awesome and will be again this year. Don't sleep on Mississippi State... We could lose that game b/c of Mullins.
