This goes for all teams. Ask a bama fan how tight there asses were during the UT, LSU, and AU games. Could have and should have lost all of those. A little bit of luck is not a bad thing.

the UT game was a national championship game (which they won!). please don't use that as a comparison. a little bit of luck is great thing. i just hate having to hope for it every game just to pull out a win. i would rather win in dominating fashion because we have way more talent than the other team.

He won one as a starter. Leak won the other TIMMAY was just a battering ram that year.

my bad. but they still went undefeated and won the NC. i expect some games to come down to the wire and you obviously need some luck. however, seems like we have to rely on good luck just be above .500

BOSCEAUX, neither Bama nor UF finished with one of the worst offenses in the country last year. Neither Bama nor UF finished with one of the worst defenses in the country the previous year. You're taking anger and frustration that spans across two seasons, and trying to isolate it to ONE scary (and somewhat poorly coached) opening game. Your analogy doesn't work. Let me draw a parallel: Mike has a wife who's been cheating on him for 2 years. All of his friends know it, and they've been screaming "leave her" for those 2 years. And then on Saturday night, she goes to the mall and drops $1000 on a new Gucci bag. Along comes his supportive friend, BOSCEAUX, who says "well Nick and Bob's wives spent a ton of money on Saturday at the mall too -- I guess they should leave their wives". But Nick and Bob's wives haven't been cheating on them for 2 years.

Not rant logic...flawed logic.

I thought the UNC game was the dictionary definition of bad luck in the second half.

This is why I have hope for this season. 9 wins with one of the worst O's in the nation. How many wins do we have with a top 50 offense?

Fixed after one bad season.

I honestly do think keeping Crowten could be the biggest mistake Les has ever made though.

maybe we get there, but after the first performance, i don't think we will be top 50. 300 total yards is close to last year.

Bob's wife has been giving out hand jobs for about 3 years. Stoops that is.

According to rant logic Urban Meyer and Bob Stoops are shite since UF and OU both looked like putrid pieces of crap against far inferior teams.

The rant says fire Meyer and Stoops immediately.

As usual the Miles backers do not understand CONTEXT. You can not single out 1 game. Games do not occur in a vacuum.

There are plenty of reasons to defend Miles and his record at LSU, but if you have to mis characterize the criticism like this then you are just blind to the issues at hand.

If they have two years in a row of doing this consistently, then open the third year with yet another of the same kind of performance, then yes, maybe so.

Where are we going to find a top 50 offense?

this is overrated as a knock against miles. Does he not get any credit for have the #1 punt and kick off teams from last year? If we would have taken the difference of our p/ko return to the avg, and added HALF of that to our off yards per game last year, we finish like 46th overall. basically, our offense did not get the opportunity to move the ball b/c our special teams were so good!!! but i have ot heard anybody compliment him on that.

I can damn well compare it to last year, LSU was a injured QB and a blown call from beating the eventual national champs in bama. Sounds familliar to UF '07. UF '07 lost several heartbreakers and some they won they should have lost. Sound familiar. Miles is not perfect but damn at least admit these comparisons are correct.

No, the comparisons are not correct. UF '07 was one year sandwiched between two national championships. That means 9-4 with a bowl loss to a Big Ten team was their down year, their rebuilding year. LSU '09 was the big bounce back year after an even worse '08 season. UF '07 is the worst season Meyer has ever had at Florida. LSU '09 is the "good" season that people like you are using to defend Miles. They are nothing alike in the context of the two coaches' careers.

This doesn't even make sense. What are you adding to what?

Bottom line is that our offense was held scoreless in the 2nd half after scoring 21 points in the first half against a 2nd string ACC defense. We managed only 303 yards (lower than our average from last year's #112 offense), ran only 57 plays to their 79 and lost time of possession by over 9 minutes.

Fixed? I'd say better, but not fixed. We finished the season with the 26th ranked defense (6th out of SEC teams). Better? Yes. Respectable? Yes. But given the fact that we allowed last year's 108th ranked offense to drop 436 yards - including 412 in the air - I wouldn't say "fixed" just yet. I'm not knocking Chavis...just think we should be careful with the Chavis fist bumps and high-fives this early.
