My dad.

My father passed away to our good Lord yesterday. Please, Please keep us in your prayers.

This is my first post, long time lurker and even longer fan of our TIGERS!

(warning: my spelling and typing sucks and you smart kids who need clift notes should go to the o-t lounge ;)

When I title my first post as "WE ARE!!! My dad" I can speak for our family and friends in that if it wasn't for our "Pops" none of us would be as big of fans as we are.

I cherish my first game, me and dad LSU vs ND 1971. Right before the opening kickoff a dude runs on the field towards the ND kicker and plants a freakin skull and crossbone flag in front of the football and throws his tiger striped hat up in the air. The roar of us drunk (well, not me I was 10) coonasses is a sound I'll never forget. My father and I have whitnesed some of the best games ever in college football. Earthquake game, on the field being hit by oranges LSU vs Florida State. A trip with my dad to South Bend in the 80's. We lost that one but still had the time of my life because i was with my father. Never forget that time he let me used his very good binoculars and spoting Charlie Mac. joging across the field at tiger stadium to shake hands with with the great Paul Bear Bryant who was leaning on the gold post on the other side of the field waiting for CM to come to him. I just wish the great PBB had a chance to run across the field to shake hands with my dad. Does anyone remember that dude we called BIG RED who had a 2 foot long steel megahorn that would chant TIGER BAIT, TIGER BAIT all game long, he sat in the north east corner and was loud. LSU vs Alabama late 70's they won 3-0 that freakin game taught me about defence, damn near killed each other every play, sat on the 50 20 rows up, the game was played between the 40 yard lines. LSU vs Georgia when G scored a td to take the lead and we started chanting LSU! LSU! LSU! I have never seen that at a fb game before or since. Got some turf at the LSU vs TEN. ot game. Adam and I, LSU vs Oaklahoma, My father, Adam and I LSU vs Ohio State. Beat the crap out of both. Hester vs Florida 07'. Season tickets for 47 years!

My father was going to school there in 1958, championship year. Got my mother pregnant, had to drop out, maried her and had my wonderful sister. Think he attended some damn good partys that year?

He has given me some of the best ever LSU fb memorabilia in existence over the years. example: a dinner napkin with all the signatures of the 58 champs. I have a fb that LSU gave to my great unkle Bill Pitcher. He kicked the longest punt in history for LSU. 1922 LSU 0 vs Auburn 3, 98 yard kick 73 yards in the air! I'll get a pic. of it for all you negadouters. Don't try to look it up in the record books. They started keeping records in the mid 30's and some dude from Olepiss is shown as the logest punt in SEC history. There was a thread on here awhile back about the longest punt in LSU history, its all wrong. I'll corect it when I have a chance. My father gave me something that I consider the coolest thing ever from LSU and may be one of a kind? We will have fun with that soon. Maybe after we steamroll the gumps?

As for this season, we all know the things our tigers have to iron out to be great. If they do watch out. Shep could break a long one every game, who knows? He better touch it 10 times a game damit and he better throw it buy the 3ed game or I'll be ready fire Miles and the Wizzard on the spot. If Trent Richardson chucks one before Shep. IDK

Dad, made me what I am today and I will miss him so much. We have somethings in commond that he gave me and its we are TIGERS and they are TIGER BAIT.

I would like to propose a toast:
To my dad, to our tigers and to all SEC
teams. Here is to another kickass season.

"Pops" we love you.....

May God bless your dad's soul and provide you and your family with love, support, faith, and strength.

To your dad...

My condolences to you and your family for your loss as well. I lost my dad the November before the BCS Championship game against Ohio State. I was in the Superdome for that game and I know he was right by my side. I cried like a baby at the end of the game because I could feel his presense and hig big smile on his face because OUR LSU TIGERS WON THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS.
