Who would you rather starting at S? While Eugene can cover and has some good speed, I think Loston is a baller and gonna lay some hits this year. Obviously whoever doesnt start will definetly play this yr, but i think Loston can set the tempo at the start w/ a big hit

I like Eugene for his game experience. The game speed should be alot slower for him..but I think starting Loston would help us out in the long run. He has all the tools to be great so why not put him on the field now and prepare for a lights out future...so Im going Loston

Eugene is third on the Depth Chart behind Loston and Reid.

That dad gum Miles, favoring seniority over talent - he needs to be fried! (And no, I didn't spell it wrong!)

No love for Reid?
He is listed as an "or".

As long as Loston knows what he's doing, him. If not, I wouldn't hesitate to put Eugene in immediately. People forget this is usually the last line of defense we're talking about here.

Laying nasty hits is great and all, but they've got nothing on knowing your assignment and sound tackling (See Laron Landry against Brees last year)

That's incorrect FWIW.

I think it has to be Jai. He was great in run support last year and his cover skills should be excellent for a safety. Geaux tigers and geaux Jai!

jai easily should be the starter. yes jai is an amazing tackler. his ability to get off of blocks (unlike hawkins) and help out in the run game should have given him the edge to be the starter at corner last season

You guys are ridiculous. I've said this so many times. He is a good tackler for cornerback not for safety. It is a whole different ball game playing there. A lot more physical n you have to take on bigger stronger people sometimes. Anybody who has played both positions knows this

That's not a good reason. See Jarret Lee.

How is this evidenced? You have yet to see Jai lay the wood from the safety position

I like Jai as the starter.

Like to see Loston get some playing time.
