How these guys are used will factor in hugely to how our season unfolds. It will also affect their advocacy with recruits.

As a freshman, Randle was used, but not very much. That is ok.

As a freshman, Shep was used, but not nearly enough. That is mostly ok.

As sophomores, LSU must get the ball into these guys hands much, much more.

These guys are superstars.

I hope Miles and Crowton go as much out of their way to feature these 2 superstars in 2010 as they appeared to go out of their way not to feature them in 2009.

The Oline and QB situation is supposed to be improved. Hopefully the excuses are gone and these guys are unleashed - not just a tad, but in full force!

well it costs us m. davis last year and he would have definitely played this year. it probably cost us lache also and I liked him as a change of pace to all the big backs we have.

D. Peterson is the most important player on offense.

He'll be ALL SEC caliber in quality, but we'll see if Crowton calls his number enough. Deangleo is going to be a big part of the equation, but he is not going to be the hub.

He should be. You are talking about a insane matchup nightmare here.

If LSU gets half-arse OLine and QB play, the Shep-Randle-Toliver-Peterson group of receiving targets is insane period. But it will all come down to big improvement in the line and QB areas, otherwise we'l be frustrated once again.

I agree, and predict that enough improvement in theses areas, plus an improved D will produce a solid season.

I would not call it Ok. He was a TD machine almost everytime he got targeted, which was not nearly enough

If Gonzales truly has the input we all hope he does, then I hope we can use Shep in a "Percy Harvin" type of way. If Gonzales is making our receivers better as many have posted, I think Reuben will have a remarkable year as well. I truly think we have the weapons in place to have a remarkable year offensively; that's if the o-line is improved. Even if it is dicey, I think plays could be designed to get the ball out of JJ's hands more quickly and that Gonzales could impact that as well because he hopefully has more input as the passing game coordinator. Here's hoping!

Man I was hyped about Lache when I first heard about him and what people were saying about him. Then I saw his highlight film and I am glad we got Ware instead or whoever we got in his place. I think Lache sucks. He goes down at the first thought of contact. The need for speed does not override the need to be unafraid of a hit and the "want" to stay on your feet after first contact.

Agreed. And it was the Ware get that caused Lache to shy away. Ware> Lache IMO.

disagree, we need a lache type back in the same way we need a shep type receiver. we need more explosive plays on offense and players that scare the defense because of a special skill. ware may be as good as or better than lache but we have guys with ware's basic skill set. we need a difference maker at tailback.

No. Nothing of the sort cost us Davis, and we were trailing for Lache at the beginning of the season before Shep or Randle saw the field, and we later backed off him a bit.

You don't "need" a speed RB. Running instincts and ability to break tackles are much more important to a RB than pure speed. See: Trindon Holliday being a situational player at LSU. If you can't find holes and you can't break tackles through the second level of the defense, it doesn't matter how fast you are.
