I was excited when we got this guy but hes been relatively limited to ST. Dude hasn't done much and hes a Junior now. Will he ever get his time? It seems a Freshman has already passed him up.

He might just be simply a career backup/utility guy like McCray was.

We likely lose Peterson after this year so that opens up a CB spot for him but it sounds like Tyrann Mathieu has already passed him up.

Probably will see plenty of snaps at the dime this year as well as s/t.

TM is pushing for that spot...I haven't heard anything about Brooks.

he'll be starting after PP leaves. he's behind Claiborne and i guess Mathieu(sp) which i think says more about those two players than Brooks.

I guess you just answered your own question. Not trying to be a smarta$$, but you have to make the coaches play you! And Brooks hasn't done that. He's been okay, but not great.

It seems he played with the ones in the scrimmage with Claiborne out.

He picked off a pass in the scrimmage yesterday. Probably will be back with Peterson returning kickoffs.

That is what I'm saying. I always hear how he picks balls off at practice but he must be extremely inconsistent in coverage.

He seems like a workout warrior but never finds the field on defense. Kinda surprised about that honestly. I remember the coaches were talking abotu him last year and he just seems to be completely lost in the shuffle outside ST.

More on the younger guys just being beasts or Brooks isn't that good?

Hopefully this doesn't mean he will give up a 4th and 10 completion in OT when a spot in the national championship is on the line (or so it seemed at the time).

I will say the coaches trying him out at safety last year was about one of the strangest things I remember our coaches doing. A sub 180 pound safety...really?

What player would you bench to put him in? Jai is on the verge of being passed up by a red shirt freshman. Craig Loston has mad skills and good size and speed. Jai was as hyped as they come. He will contribute, but just like Brooks, he probably won't start. The coaches have to play the best player available at each position. Unless they don't like keeping their jobs.

I have never been overly impressed with Jai or Brooks

Both could start for 90% of college football teams.

He's starting in both the nickel and the dime. You'll see #13 a lot this year on defense.
