Speaking of that score....is Georgia that much better on offense that they score much more than 10? Are we much worse on defense to allow them much more than 10?

I would argue we are considerably worse on defense this year than in 2011. That defense held Alabama to 6 points. There's no way this year's defense could come close to that kind of performance.

That being said, I agree with your logic. I think our offense has improved more than our defense has declined, and I don't think UGA is all that different. Their defense is probably worse and their offense is probably better with the addition of Gurley.

Well, he better be more prepared than last year. Georgia passed all over us. If they catch a few of the dropped balls from last year, they beat us.

We didn't play UGA last year...

It's a different enough exercise to warrant the correction. 21 unbroken cleans at 250 would be unreal.

Not to be an arse but those are hang power cleans, not cleans. A "clean" implies that the bar returns to the ground after each rep and that you break parallel when receiving the bar in the front rack.

Still a ridiculous display of strength and conditioning.
Absolutely. Not to mention the guy has repped LSU gear in each BR video documenting his comeback.

I really can't understand a reason not to root for him. It can only help LSU to have him restore his image and succeed (even on a small scale) in the League. It certainly doesn't help LSU to have a former player perennially discussed as the biggest bust of all time.

Searched but didn't see it mentioned yet on here. Looking like JR might get his shot after all. Several teams are reportedly showing significant interest in him now that he's dropped 50lbs and is back to 265.

I am loving his comeback story and am hoping he finds a great situation.

I'm thinking they're just referring to the SEC announcing its new TV network.
The guy has lost 44lbs of fat in around 2 months. Get your facts together before dumping on him.
The analysis in this article is horribly flawed:

(1) He ignores actual passing yards in favor of YPA, completion percentage and vertical-bad-decision rate. JJ only eclipsed 200 yards ONCE all season. Only looking at those other metrics completely obscures the fact that he didn't generate enough offense. If Ridley and our o-line hadn't exceeded expectations this year, we would have lost several additional games. Even in the Bama game (his supposed turning point), he only passed for 141 yds...hardly setting the world on fire.

(2) This point is partially related to (1), but Jefferson's stats were accumulated this year against teams who KNEW we could not pass the ball and were altering their defense (loading the box) based on that knowledge. Against any kind of balanced defense, JJ's numbers would have been even worse.

This thread is getting out of hand and should have never garnered this much traction. If you can't read Insider, it basically gives a statistical analysis of why PP was the best (and most valuable) player on defense in the country.

Tim,

Seems like you're getting inundated with requests for these, but are there any left? Would absolutely love to get one (or several). I'm in Dallas (will be at ACL next weekend if you're going).

Thanks in advance man.

PP Interceptions Video?

Anyone see a highlight clip of the interceptions from this weekend? Thanks in advance.

I think it will be highly dependent on what's going on in the "coaching carousel" come year-end. If there are some good coaches who show interest, I think it's possible. I think Alleva will be pragmatic enough to realize that he has to replace Miles if he fires him.

Definitely agree about Peterson. Think he'll be one of the breakout players in the SEC this year. He's really getting no love from any of the national guys who focus on the SEC. Chris Low never even thinks to mention him.

He might just be simply a career backup/utility guy like McCray was.

Hopefully this doesn't mean he will give up a 4th and 10 completion in OT when a spot in the national championship is on the line (or so it seemed at the time).

It's definitely a good problem to have. I'm not suggesting that it will actually manifest itself in any tangible way, but when I think about those three guys, I honestly think they could each be the marquee receiver at most programs.

Luckily, I don't think any of them have the temperament to let it turn them into prima donnas.

Been following the Rant and Recruiting Board for a few years and finally decided to start participating.

Does anyone else think the combination of TT, RR, and Shep will cause some issues with the distribution of touches? All three promise to have great seasons, but there are only so many passes to go around...

The flip side, I suppose, is that it will be all the more difficult for opposing defenses to double cover anyone.
