quote:

QUOTE OF THE NIGHT I: "This opportunity was just too difficult to pass up."

--- LSU football coach Les Miles as told to the LSU sports information office minutes after Zach Lee became a Dodger late Monday night. Sports information offices tend to clean up coaches' and players' comments and make them sound better. In reality, the $5.25 million opportunity may have left Lee with a difficult decision to make. It was not a "difficult" opportunity.

QUOTE OF THE NIGHT II: "I always dread when opportunities come, because they're so difficult. If we'd just get rid of all opportunities, life wouldn't be as difficult as it is."

--- A sportswriter from another publication minutes after Miles' comments circulated.

Snarky comment. Akin to calling someone out for misusing the word irony or a typo on a message board. Worthy of a punch to the face. Guilbeau really is a dick.

The article greatly exemplifies why Guil-Blow writes for a shite newspaper organization instead of the Houston Chronicle or Dallas Morning News.

its not like Miles was lying to Lee before he left; if he performed really well in camp, and with an injury or two at qb, he could have gotten significant playing time this year- however ideal situation would be that he doesnt have to play and redshirts

Has he had brain damage? A stroke? Seriously, I am not trying to be funny, but if anyone who I knew or who worked with me spoke that way, I would think that he had mental problems.

This quote makes you think he has brain damage? You and Guilbeau are peas in a turd.

No, what Guilbeau is saying is that the first comment is what was released after it was cleaned up by the media. The second comment is what was actually said, as reported by a sports writer who was there.

Or, am I reading it wrong?

If so, I gladly retract my statement. I take no satisfaction in thinking that Les Miles is losing his mind.

When asked if Lee would have basically been slated for "mop-up" duty behind Jefferson and Lee, who both have struggled at the position the last two years, Miles agreed. "Yeah, it was going to be the back end of the game," he said.

Dude i have read so many articles on this. Media is full of shite and takes things out of context. He never said lee will see time in the back end of games. He said the 3rd string qb will. The 3rd string qb will only see garbage time. Most schools the 3rd string qb doesnt even get to see that.

The second quote is another egghead reporter being snarky at Les' quote.

The opportunity wasn't difficult, passing up the opportunity was. Christ, the guy has a mike in his face and everyone is dissecting what he is saying. You put Guilbeau up there and ask him some uncomfortable questions and he'd likely shite himself.

I agree with Miles. the walk-ons should be as prepared. They have been in the system learning. I hope Bailey gets Lee's schollie. No matter what though everyone wants to just hate on miles.
