When I go to place like Ruffino's I expect them to charge me the same for Smirnoff as Goose.

Really?

I have been to Ruffino's about 9-10 times over the last few years and have never had a problem with service or the food. If anything I found the service to be a little overbearing (asking too much or trying to suggest too many things).

Everything has always been great and is one of my favorite restaurants in Baton Rouge.

Just my opinion but sounds like the original poster is a little picky. Then again, I don't have as high of expectations as some other people. I'm a little more laid back than most people I guess.

The goose/smirnoff comment got me too. What did that mean?

It sounds like your trip was doomed from the moment you walked in the door. The thing I don't get is that if it was so bad, why not alert management? I like to talk to management whenever things are going either really good, or really bad. I like to give them a chance to make it better, although sometimes they are no help. If they are good, they take the criticism/praise as constructive, and use it to build a business.

I can agree with you on the kids thing though. I have 2 youngins, and I realize that I can't always control them. Sometimes they are just having a meltdown. Sometimes, as sweet as they usually are, they just won't shut up. If this is the case, I go outside and calm them down, if they won't, I'll leave and take my food to go. It's the courteous thing!
