From August 1 through September 6th, Palace Cafe will offer a special "Temperature Lunch" as their weekday special. It will be available Monday-Friday from 11:30 - 2:30. Two courses are priced at the previous day's high temperature. (85 degrees on Monday would mean lunch on Tuesday will be priced at $8.50). This special will be available through Labor Day.

First Course

Chicken & Andouille Gumbo
or
Soup de Jour
or
Werlein Salad

Second Course

Entree changes daily

Not real casual, but shorts are fine.

Why?

What is a better lunch than charbroiled oysters? Or a bbq shrimp poboy?

Original Drago's- yes. The one at the Hilton was a tourist trap the last time I was there. Much better food in the area IMO.

I'm a HUGE fan of Johnny's. One of the most underrated po boys in New Orleans imo.

I have had many charbroiled oysters from both places and they taste the same to me. Pretty sure I paid the same as well.

Isn't there a microbrewery on the other side of Harrah's ... they have garlic fries, can't remember the name of the place.

Gordon Biersch. Okay to watch a game, but many other better options for food.

Ugly Dog Saloon is a quaint place for this, but I wouldn't want to do that today and walk back to the aquarium.
