I'm pretty obsessed with Bistro Byronz. It is probably older than a year old though. I just found out about it a year ago.

Bistro Byronz opened its 120-seat restaurant Saturday in Mid-City, the evolution of a popular Baton Rouge deli Byronz from a generation ago. The latest Kantrow family restaurant strives for something different: a neighborhood gathering place with distinguished decor and classy comfort food. 'A bistro is exactly what we are,' says Mike Kantrow, who remodeled a dormant 1930s Spanish tile structure to include black-stained wood accents, subway tile in the foyer, a back-of-the-dining room bar and outdoor deck seating. Meeting areas for six or 30 are included and flat-screen TVs are discretely placed in dining areas. Located roughly opposite Superior Grill on Government Street, the restaurant is serving lunch now and plans to fold in a dinner menu with evening hours starting Saturday. (Gary Perilloux)
