Pretty sad to think you had guys like Fisher, Muschamp, Pelini, Smart, etc. come through this program and nothing was done with those guys.
HA!
And was he AD, then?
But, yeah, Alleva is completely incapable of running an athletic program and hiring decent coaches. I guess the LSU board is also comprised of a bunch of dumbasses that can't evaluate talent.
You sure don't give these people much credit.

Two previous football hires ... Carl Franks and Ted Roof. Tell me why you would want Alleva in charge of hiring a new coach.
Didn't he hire Cutcliffe too? He appears to be working out well at Duke.

I hope Miles is so successful he gets to retire on his own terms, around 2020.
I realize some won't believe it, but I do too. If Miles is able to turn the program around by producing disciplined, fundamentally sound football teams, I am willing to listen and cringe every time he opens his mouth to speak.
Again, it is acceptable to be eccentric when one excels in their profession. If not, they look and sound retarded.

It would be a mistake to think that the primary complaint with Miles is his inability to express himself in public.
That comes pretty far down the list...

Agreed...that is why I said it the way I did. He needs to provide coaching and administrative competence and the rest is window dressing.
If he does not provide the former, then his retarded speaking is simply a proof point to his incompetence in multiple areas.

1. cute how you purposely left off Cutcliffe
2. Its better than having Hyman Roth in charge offering the same salary that was effective in 2000.

IMO Pelini was the asst. head coach (and in some cases the head coach) during that time. Miles was some sort of background figurehead.
you got evidence of this?

Were you at practice? In meetings?
I know what I saw in TS..........I cannot argue it is untrue, however it is quite a leap to say it is true. You are entitled to your opinion, I just want to know how valid it is. Unless you are near the program...........well, it isn't very valid.

At Duke jackass
So hiring a high school coach (Carl Franks from Garner High) to lead a D1 program is a good hire? I promise there were better candidates willing to take over the Duke program in a weak ACC.
Guess we know who the jackass is.

You're right, he did ... but that doesn't make up for the two previous horrible hires.

They hire a search firm to find the best guy. I'd be more worried about who runs the search firm than I would about the figurehead that dots the i's and crosses he t's.

Lombardi is gonna call all the shots on this one.
Posted on 7/26/10 at 2:34 pm to Cash
And Lombardi has made no secret of his admiration for and lonstanding friendship with Corch Orgeron, who might be looking for an escape from NCAA prison in LA .. .

You should be banned for stupidity. And that's saying a lot for this board.

He won a fricking national championship. If you don't pay a coach that wins at the highest level you'll NEVER get another coach to come here... ever.

Well let's put that money to good use and get another coach in here!
