i know this is looking ahead a little far but what do you guys think the chances of peterson leaving early?

i personally think there is a good chance he'll stay. they don't lose many players next year and some other teams lose alot of players so they have a good shot to make a run at a sec title.

your thoughts....

id give it only 15%

he's already projected to be a top 5 pick in next years draft before the season has even started...

it all depends on the situation of the NFL

if the NFL plays ball next year he's gone
if the NFL does not play ball next year he's a Tiger

Let the guy do something outstanding on the field before you look ahead.

Unless something drastic causes his stock to fall way down, <5% chance he stays.

I don't think he came here to compete for conference titles. A legitimate NC contender would be necessary to get his odds of staying in the double digits.

If he stays healthy and has the type of year we're all hoping for he'll be a top 5 pick. I'll say 0%.

The question is will an NFL lockout interfere w/ the draft? There are plenty of camps/facilities available for him to keep his abilities fine tuned for the 2012 NFL season in the event of a lockout. Is it worth it to him to risk injury coming back for his senior year assuming he stays healthy this year?

There's no doubt he's the first corner taken. But if there's no one doing any taking, I think he stays.

Having said that, I don't want to be misunderstood, the chances of that happening are right between slim and none.

Agreed. And this is THE only factor. As far as a decision between LSU or the NFL, its a no brainer - he goes. (and I dont blame him one bit)

Presuming he cannot improve his draft position by staying, and could hurt it, he is gone.

I don't expect the NFL to lockout. Way to much money on the line, they will negotiate down to the wire and the players and owners will both work it out.

Miles would have to give him three months of his salary to get him to stay.
