Who's the guy you're looking forward to most that isn't getting the Shep/Peterson/Claiborn hype?

For me it's The Other Peterson; that would be Deangelo Peterson. The guy was an absolute stud in the end of the season and I expect the coaches to be licking their chops at using this guy. He's the kind of player who can keep defenses honest if they start stacking the box to stop the run or if they go small and flood the perimeter to stop our three 5 star WRs. Basically a season-long mismatch for defenses.

What say yal?

Deangelo Peterson was definetly impressive at the end of the season. He caught each of his TD passes at the only games I was able to go to last year. The guy has a serious vertical.

Rueban Randle...especially if he looked like Dandy described him today...

quote:

I did see a few LSU players working out and they all appeared to be in great shape. Offensive lineman Josh Dworaczyk looks to be near 300 pounds and wide receiver Reuben Randle looks to be 210 or over.

Dandy Don

Randle at 6'2" and 215 lbs. could be beastly this year. We could honestly have 4 BIG threats to throw to this year (Tolliver, Shep, Randle and Deanglo Peterson).

Dworaczyk at 300 would be a great bonus!

On offense - Michael Ford

On defense - Josh Downs

Both are focused and intense, always giving 100%

Montgomery
Francois
Brooks
Faulk

And Randle really shouldn't count. He's getting plenty of hype.

I'll also add the myth, the legend Alex Hurt; curious to see how this guy lives up to all the offseason talk.

O and people mentioning the WR talk are spot on. It's gonna be absolutely sickening if we aren't able to get the ball to these guys. If we're not top 3-4 in the SEC in passing this year then it's an epic fail.

We should all hope the O-line exceeds expectations.

I don't know about y'all but I'm excited to see Mingo out there. He was relentless in the spring game

Underrated player - Claiborn if you ask me, great athleticism

Edwards and/or Montgomery would be a good sign. Also, if Barksdale has an All-SEC type campaign, that would be a very good sign, indeed.

Randle could be 250 and run a 4.1 40 and won't matter if Jefferson is the one throwing it to him. no accuracy, slow as molasses release and too jittery in the pocket.

Good call, I agree. Most of the ones have been named already in the thread but def Claiborne, Ryan Baker and Ford. I wouldn't label RR as "underrated" because so much has already been said about him and he has started several games last year and performed well in them.

I wouldn't exactly say accuracy was Jefferson's problem last year. He was 2nd in the league in completion %, behind Tebow. Decision-making (as in running out of the pocket, throwing the ball away) on the other hand...
